I know this is a little off topic of scrapping, but have you met my Jack yet?
He's our new Schnauzer puppy. We just got him on Tuesday and thank goodness he's adorable! LOL So far he's been very much a momma's boy and I can't go anywhere in the house without him trailing me, getting tangled in my feet, and whining when I "lock" him in the kitchen. He's been doing OK with the potty training thing so far, as long as he goes outside every 2-3 hours. He's had just 1 accident on the carpet so far but we caught it right away and got it cleaned up.
That's my NOT so favorite part of being a new puppy owner. That and the crying at night. He usually goes to sleep OK, but because his little body isn't used to waiting all night, he usually has an accident in the middle of the night and starts crying and howling because he doesn't like to sleep by it. Which is a good thing, but it's terribly annoying to have to wake up at 3 o'clock because of a puppy!
He's a surprise birthday present for our daughter Hannah. She'll be 5 next week and has been wanting a puppy for 2 years. We kept putting her off telling her when we move we'll get a puppy, when we get a new house...well, we close on the old "new" house next week too. So, we figured we'd break Jack in before Hannah comes home from Bible School at my parents house.
She called this morning and was a little upset. She was at grandma's house all week, and decided late last night she was getting homesick. My mom held her off until this morning, but I got a call at 8am saying "Mommy, I wanna come home." Awwww, breaks your heart right? Kinda funny beings Tuesday night when I called she didn't want to talk to ME she wanted to talk to DADDY! :( LOL So, Jack and I are going to pick her up from Bible School this afternoon and stay at my parents house overnight so she can finish her week there tomorrow. They have a HUGE program with over 300 kids and they go M-F from 9-3 every day. I remember it when I was a kid, it was awesome! One of my favorite parts of summer! She says she's been having a lot of fun there too. She's just ready to be home. A week is a long time for an almost 5 year old to be away from home. This is her longest stint. She stayed at my brother-in-law's house with his family for a weekend when we went to Minneapolis for our 10th anniversary last fall, and did OK. But she was ready to see us on Sunday :)
OK well, I've got to get going. Jack has his first vet appointment this morning. See you all soon!
