It's a Leap Day Extravaganza!!

29penguin Tomorrow is Leap Day!!  That means we get a whole "extra" day on the calendar.  What fun things do you have planned?

How about a day in the snow?  Take pictures of the kids making a snowman, sledding, or making snow angels.

How about backwards day?  Have breakfast at dinner time, wear your shirt inside out, or walk backwards all day?

Make it something fun for the kids to remember 'cuz it only comes around once every 4 years!

Another thing that only comes around once every 4 years is our Leap Day Extravaganza!  The Store at A Walk Down Memory Lane is having a HUGE sale today.

Shipping is reduced from it's normal rate of $6.55 to $2.90 per order up to $75 and then it's always free!

How about 29% off all past kits?  They're normally retail value around $35 and with 29% off of their regular price of $29.99 you're getting a beautifully coordinated kit for less than $22.

Or, we have a 29 cent clearance section.  Lots of papers, stickers, embellishments for just 29 cents!

We are also introducing our March kits a day early, so you can get your kit for the great shipping rate of $2.90.  These crazy deals are only available on Friday, February 29 so be sure to stop by early before your favorite things are all gone!

How about some cards?

Bgfiggypuddinghappybirthday WOW!  There's been so much going on at the store lately that I haven't updated with any new ideas.  So, today's post is gonna catch you up on some card ideas.

These cards are ones I've designed for our monthly Hobby night at church.  Our church is starting a card ministry, where we are making cards to send out to members for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, get well, sympathy, etc. as an outreach program and to make our members feel more part of the family.  We have a group of gals that get together one Friday night a month to make the cards and then we send them to whoever needs one throughout the month.

OK, the first card here is using Basic Grey Figgy Pudding papers.  YUP, you read that right!  :)  Christmas paper for a masculine birthday card!  The stamp is a single stamp by Lizzie Anne Designs.  It's a pretty simple card, we just inked around the edges of the papers and we had a finished card.Babycarriagelad_3

The next card is another relatively simple one.  I used another Lizzie Anne Designs single stamp for the baby carriage.  I used my Prismacolor markers and mineral spirits to color in the inside of the carriage.  I took my Tim Holtz Design Ruler (which is currently out of stock but is on order) to punch the holes for the faux stitching and used a black pen to make the zig zag stitching. I used some Paper Salon papers from my stash.  I also added some Lollipop ribbon, Bazzill cardstock for the base and the little brads and metal tab are from Making Memories.

REMEMBER!!!!  Tomorrow is our Leap Year sale...it only happens once every 4 YEARS, and it's ONLY for our newsletter readers!  You'll want to sign up for the newsletter HERE for all the details!  The email with the info is coming out Thursday night/Friday morning, so you have a bit of time to sign up.  You won't wanna miss this sale!

March sneak peeks!

Gpsneak1 Here are your first sneak peeks of the March kits!!  These two kits are soooo very different this month!  One is very soft and pastel, very pretty and dainty, and ready for Easter and Spring!

As you can see by the sneak peek, we have the new Bazzill Stitch'z cardstock included in this kit!  It's a fun 12x12 cardstock with holes punched out of it.  This one is in snow white and the 3 hearts are so cute along the edge.  You can put brads or eyelets to fill the holes.  Or you can leave them open with a piece of different cardstock behind.  Or you could stitch some thread, fibers or ribbon through the holes too!

Spsneak1The second kit this month is a fun and funky kit!  It was designed by a member on the board at The Scrapbook Site during last month's online crop.  We held a challenge to design a kit.  Didn't she do a great job?

There are loads of blue, purple and green in this kit.  The patterned papers are double sided for twice as much choice!  We also have a piece of Bazzill bling cardstock tucked in there...and do you notice the extra glitz and bling in there?  2 different bling stickers to play with!

These kits will be making their debut in the store on Saturday, March 1.  These kits are very limited in quanity, so you'll want to make sure and stop by early to make sure to get yours!  We'll have more sneak peeks through the week to give you a bigger picture of what's inside.

YAY!! The site is ready!

The move is complete, and the new store is ready for you!!  We have added a new SSL certificate to the store, so your information is even more safe than ever before!

Happy shopping!

The Store is Down for Maintenance

Down_for_maintenance_2 Don't these girls look like they're having fun?  They're busy over at the store fixing away so we while they're busy, we just need to find something to occupy our time!  They should be done fixing within 24-48 hours so the store should be back soon!  I really apologize for the dust around, but with emails not going out to customers like they should, and not being able to get through to my old host, I decided it was time to find a new and better one!

OK, now, until the store opens back up, what shall we do?  Hey, I know!!  We can have a blog posting party!  I'm looking for some really cool and inspiring blogs to check out beings I can't upload any new product to the store today or tomorrow.  So, how about you guys post some blog links in the comments section here for us all to go check out!  I'll start...

One very cool blog that I've recently found is the Colorstory Challenge site.  When you visit this site, they start you off with a color combination a sketch and a picture to gain some inspiration from!  They are a new and growing site, and they've got a fun thing going!  Their first color combination was some brown, pink and a little bit of green so when I was walking through the store, I found a bunch of papers with those color combinations!  3 Bugs in a Rug, Doodlebug, Basic Grey were just the first 3 I found.  So, I'm gonna dig out some of my Basic Grey Infuse papers and get to work!

Website shakeup!

Our store host is having some major issues with a spammer, and our emails aren't working to send (we can receive, but not send out) and so we have decided to switch over to a new host.

They are telling us it should be switched over within 24-48 hours so it may be a little bumpy the next few days.  If you send an email that goes unanswered for 48 hours, please re-send it.  Again, we completely apologize for this inconvenience!  Thanks for your patience as the dust settles around the store.

CHA Pictures Day 2

OctoberafternoondetourWe begin our 2nd day of CHA pictures!

This is from October Afternoon.  They introduced 2 new paper lines along with some very cool chipboard albums, new clear stamp sets, rubons, and alphabets.  They introduced 2 new self-adhesive chipboard alphabets with cardstock alphabets to match the chipboard.Cratepaper

Crate Paper introduced 4 new lines of papers as well as matching ribbons and other embellishments.  These papers are a gorgeous mix of slightly distressed papers with beautiful patterns.  They have a texture to them and are a bit heavier weight for patterned paper, which is why we love them!

Bobunnyorganic Bo Bunny introduced a number of new paper lines as well!  They also brought out some new chipboard word books, and we will add those to our stock of word books that we already carry!  They also introduced clear stamps to their line, which we of course were more than happy to snatch up.  Their papers were shipping immediately after the show, with other items being released at a later date.  So, these should be in stock in the store soon!

Heidiswappcarefree_2Heidi Swapp had an exciting CHA booth this year!  She has designed her regular lines of embellishments that we are eager to stock, as well as 3 new paper lines.  We will be carrying the new paper lines Carefree and Runway as well as a spattering of her newest embellishments.

Mmanimalcrackers Making Memories did not disappoint us this show either.  They introduced 2 new paper lines and added to their very popular Noteworthy line.  This photo is showing off their new baby line called Animal Crackers.  This is the Jack selection, which is more fitting for baby boys.  The girls selection is beautiful as well, showing off some adorable hippos and giraffes in pinks and oranges.  They have some interesting features to some of their papers including flocking (note the letters on the middle right paper is flocked) and diecut (note the black looking stars in the top right paper as those are diecut and will show whatever is behind it).  They have matching embellishments such as felt pieces, brads, ribbons, epoxy pieces, cardstock stickers and the new Slice machine has it's own cartridge with matching animals to make your own diecuts.  The Noteworthy additions include 2 new color families in brighter tones.  However, they are just as gorgeous as the first release, and it too has a Slice card to be able to cut out matching diecuts.  The last line introduced was the Traveler line, very fitting for anyone wanting to show off some vacation photos.

Check back again tomorrow for some more pictures as well as a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!  You won't want to miss it!

CHA Pictures Day 1

Chabanner Are you ready for some CHA pictures??  Today's pictures include some of the popular "big name" companies, along with some smaller companies, and even a few new companies!

I'll give you a bit of a preview today of the sort of companies that I will be stocking in my store, and in the next couple of days, you'll see some closeups of some product lines that I have on order already!  Some companies were shipping as soon as they got back from CHA, while others will be spreading out release dates from now until July.  Keep watching the blog for more details on when you can expect to see all these scrappy goodies in the store!

Basic Grey....what can I begin to say about Basic Grey's 5 new lines?   They are everything we'vSultrypreviewe come to expect from BG and more!  The preview here is for the Sultry line.  We have some collection packs on order and we'll split them so you can either buy the whole collection, or individual papers from the collection.  We have also ordered some of the embellishments such as brads, buttons, and glazed brads to match too!  Basic Grey also released 4 other collections called:

Archaic - lots of brown and blues in this line with some funky looking dinosaurs.  Perfect for outdoor or boy pictures!

Cupcake - very bright and as it's name suggests, is perfect for children and birthday parties.

Sugared - a beautiful line sure to please most scrapbookers.

Boxer - a very masculine line with loads of blue and red in the collection.Chatterboxeclectique_2

Chatterbox has made a comeback with some new papers, embellishments, stickers, clear stamps, and more!  There are 3 new paper lines and they have also introduced the artsy-licious line which comes in a variety of colors.  They have some LUCIOUS papers with foiling, flocking, and sparkle, available in all colors.  They also have ribbon, brads and other embellishments to match the papers.  We have all been waiting for Chatterbox to deliver some new collections, and this one is not disappointing!  We have a number of new arrivals on their way from Chatterbox including the complete artsy-licious lines as well as the line shown here called Eclectique.  We also have Happy Day and Botanico on it's way too!

Pinkpaislee_2 Pink Paislee is a new company on the scrapbooking block.  They have 2 paper lines as well as some clear stamp sets.  We have ordered the entire paper lines along with some of their clear stamps and clear overlays.  This company had a very clever booth in the new vendors area!  They were so much fun to talk to, and we are very excited about carrying their lines in our store.

We actually ordered these lines before the CHA show, so we expect these goodies to be in the store and available for purchase very soon!

Tinkeringinkpreview Tinkering Ink is not necessarily a new company, but it is new to the store here at A Walk Down Memory Lane.  We have picked up a few of their new papers as well as their innovative chipboard/acrylic mini albums.  These clever mini albums combine what we love best about chipboard and acrylic, but because they are put together, you needn't be afraid of the acrylic aspect of the mini album anymore!  One of the Tinkering Ink Design Team Members lives in my home town, and I'm hoping to get some sample layouts and ideas from her for the store.

I know I sometimes find their papers a bit intimidating, but I'm hoping Betsy will show us how to take these artsy paper lines and make gorgeous layouts with them!

Glitzfrosting  The last picture of today's preview is of some beautiful Glitz Designs frosting.  We already stock 2 of their frosting lines, the square lines and the arrows.  They have added circular gems to their frosting line, as well as a number of different shapes and sizes of bling shapes and words.  They also have come out with a few new paper lines and roller stamps that look like a lot of fun to use, so look for these new additions to the store soon!
