Just the girls

Justthegirlsforblog Happy Wednesday everyone!  I thought I'd post a layout today, seeing as I haven't done that for a while!  :)

I did this layout a couple of Saturdays ago.  My mom, sister and I get together at least one Saturday a month to scrapbook together.  This was one of the layouts I came up with.  It is showing off my brand new niece!  My daughter who will be 7 in June is so proud to be big enough to hold the baby!

I used the new Crate Paper Blue Hill collection kit using the papers and diecuts in the kit.  I also used the Crate Paper Blue Hill ribbon under the diecut.    The blue dots are a Hambly overlay that I cut up, so I could use just the dots.  There is plenty of this diecut left for another project though!  Last is the cute little flower embellishments.  I used the Autumn Leaves stamp on white cardstock using a brown ink.  Then I took Pebbles shimmer chalks to color in the flowers to match the patterned paper.  I cut them out, and popped them up with some Pop-Dots.

Monday Member Highlights!

This_was_me_page_1 Another Monday means more Member Highlights!  I have been scrolling through the member galleries at The Scrapbook Site and found a few new layouts uploaded by members.  If you're looking for some inspiration, head on over!

ryreagmom uploaded this layout to the gallery.  I love the way she used the patterned paper strips on the layout to add some vibrant color to the black and white photo.  She used various pattern papers from My Mind's Eye, Bazzill cardstock, American Crafts letter stickers, Basic Grey chipboard arrow, and journaling card from My Mind's Eye.

April_dt1 SuzanneRenee uploaded this beautiful layout to the gallery.  She used Pattern Papers from Making Memories Noteworthy, and rubons from Heidi Grace.  She used the diecut pattern paper to write a lot of journaling on this page.

Magazines and Idea Books!!

Donnadowneyfabricscrapbooking_2  Are you looking for some new and innovative ways to use your scrapbook supplies?  In Donna Downey's latest installment of her "YES, it's a scrapbook!" series, she shows us how to incorporate fabric into our scrapbooks.  Or even how to make an entire album out of fabric!  She has 25 projects inside her "Fabric Scrapbooking" book jam packed with some amazing projects combining fabric and photos.

Or, if you're less of a tactile scrapper and are looking for some help with digital scrapbooking or how to make your photos look better, check out Computertricksvol2 the Computer Tricks Volume 2 idea book by Jessica Sprague.  In this book, Jessica shows off how to take your photo editing skills to the next level.  Or how to make a cool hybrid project.  If you're looking for a handy guide to digi scrapping, check out this book for some great tips!

Lastly, did you know we carry Cards, Scrapbook Trends and Paper Trends magazine?  We have past issues at 40% off every day.  We get a limited amount of each magazine every month, and I think these are my favorite.  They have beautifully photographed layouts, Cards200805 amazing card ideas, and very little advertising.  These are really more like monthly idea books instead of monthly magazines.

We carry a number of various idea books and magazines including Becky Fleck's Page Maps, Creating Keepsake's About a Girl, Gifts from the Heart and many more!  You can see the full listing of idea books right here in the idea book and magazine section of the store.  ENJOY!

Crop day Today!!! and sneak peeks!

Francineminialbum Francine posted this picture and supply list for this BEAUTIFUL clear overlay mini class this morning.  She will be posting instructions for it later today on the message board during our "Thank Goodness Taxes are OVER!" crop today.  All day long we will be doing various challenges, chats, classes and games to have fun at the board on a Wednesday.  But, if you work during the day, never fear...we'll keep the challenges and classes up on the board so that you can access them anytime you want!

We also have a chat scheduled at 7PM Central time on the board with Marci Lambert.  Marci is a Design Team member with Hambly Studios and will be joining us on the board.  She will show us some innovative ways to adhere and use the Hambly overlays on our layouts!Boxerrocketssneakpeek_2

And, because it is the middle of the month...here is the sneak peek of May's kits!!

This first kit has some GORGEOUS Basic Grey Boxer papers, GCD Studios Rockets Red Glare, Bazzill cardstock including a scallop circle sheet.  Red glitter alphabet stickers, Cosmo Cricket blackboard shapes, brads, Heidi Swapp bling, Doodlebug Paper frills...YUMMY!  This may be red, white and blue, but is NOT your typical Patriotic kit!

Cogsmopapertrunksneakpeek Another bright and funky kit!  I don't know why, but it seems like these kits are my favorite with bright colors, funky designs that can be used with both boys and girls or even some holidays!!  This one has lots of Cosmo Cricket Cogsmo papers, journaling card sheet, and an alphabet diecut sheet.  There's some Cosmo Cricket rubons, Moxxie buttons, KI Memories softies, American Crafts plastic flowers, and some Stewart Superior Memory Mist.  This is some really cool metallic spray mist, similar to the Tattered Angels stuff, but I find this goes on a little better without warping the paper, and with lots more metallic specs in it!!  You'll have to try it!

Monday means Member Highlights

Momandali0001_2 Good Monday morning!  I have been stalking the gallery over at The Scrapbook Site and couldn't help but pull out some of the layouts that the fabulous members are posting over there!

Molly created this layout using items from the Dream_big440Tea Party kit.  I love how simple the layout is, but how it highlights a picture of Molly and her daughter.

The layout on the right is by Stacey.  This one uses products by Pink Paislee, Making Memories, American Crafts Thickers, Hambly, and My Mind's Eye. I love the use of the Pink Paislee scallop diecut paper and how she layered all of her embellishments on the corner of the photo.  I really love all of the journaling on the page!  The journaling is a little message from a Francinesheshootsmom to a daughter about how she wishes her daughter will someday Dream Big!

This is a layout by Francine.  She is trying to get the perfect photo, and how she loves photography.

Francine used the gorgeous Making Memories 5th Avenue diecut paper, Pink Paislee diecut paper, American Crafts Thickers, and Basic Grey rubons.

You can be featured on our Monday Member posts, by uploading your layouts to the gallery at The Scrapbook Site, using products available at A Walk Down Memory Lane!
