August Sneak Peek

Augustsneakzpeek Ok, so I told you I wasn't going to give you any sneak peeks of the August kit...but I just can't help myself!  :)

Here is a little sneaky peek of the mini album that I've created.  I have been playing with my kit here at the campground and have made a cute little mini album of my daughter's Kindergarten class field trip.

I've used ONLY the things in the kit because I didn't take along any extras, which was hard 'cuz I would have LOVED to add more...but this is fun too as it's stretching me to use only what is available.  There is a TON of goodies in this kit including a mini kit, 2 full alphabets, a 6x6 paper pad, a full sheet of rubons, a full package of ribbons, and a full package of embellishments.  THEN I added some other embellishment goodies as well.  They'll go on sale tomorrow, August 1 and the kit is called Summer Lovin'.

We've had some issues with the internet availability here at the campground, Paullinafishing_2 and I finally called about it this morning, so they reset the router for me.  So, I can get on for a little bit...but here's a little peek at what we've been doing!

It has been unbelievably humid here and hot.  Most days it's been hovering around 90 degrees.  So in the morning, we've been playing cards or games, in the afternoon we've been swimming, and later on in the evening we've done a bit of fishing!  The lake is stocked so well here, you can SEE the fish nibbling at our worms.  We're here with my mom, my sister-in-law and Hannah's cousins, and my parents friends.  The kids have been having a GREAT time as you can see.  Hannah likes to fish, but isn't too thrilled with the idea of touching a worm OR a fish!  LOL  Sounds a lot like me!  I won't touch either one of them either.

Hope you're having a great week so far.  I'll hoefully be able to update more tomorrow!

A Few More Pictures from CHA

Cratepapermia Here are a few more pictures of some of my favorite things from CHA.  Like I said before, I've got shipping confirmation on some new goodies already, so I need to MAKE WAY for the new stuff!!

I'll be gone on vacation next week, spending a whole week in our camper near a lake.  I'm really excited to just sit on the beach and relax!  What does that mean for you??  Well....I'm so glad you asked!

You will enjoy my $5 flat rate shipping on all orders under $75 through Labor Day weekend.  With gas being so CRAZY expensive, I'm trying to help out in every way I can...and how many of us can even DRIVE to shop anymore?

Also, have you noticed our CLEARANCE section in the store?  Plenty of goodies including paper collection packs, embellishments, stickers, yummy!  While I'm away, you will see more things make their way into the clearance section.  I'm running out of room and I've got a ton of more stuff on it's way.  The clearance section has goodies on sale up to 40% ofJustritesamplesf.  Couple that with some $5 shipping and your hubby can hardly complain right?   *wink*

OK, now on to the pictures!  The above picture is of the new Crate Paper Mia collection.  Crate Paper has jumped on the diecut paper bandwagon, and now offers 2 diecut sheets with every collection.

Check out these cool little party favor ideas from the Just Rite Stampers booth!  Aren't they adorable?  I already carry the starter set as well as some of the border sets, but look for new designer elemente sets, new fonts, and more!  They introduced something like 20+ new sets for us to enjoy!

Octoberafternoonpapers What about these *scary* little monsters from October Afternoon!  They were so cute, and beings they're from October Afternoon, one of my favorite releases yet!  They have one collection called Hometown that will be shipping late July/Early August which I'm excited about.  It's a nice fall collection with the cutest little trees and houses on it!

October Afternoon had 4 new lines set to release over the next couple of months.  You may even see one of their collections in a kit coming up this fall (oops, was I supposed to say that?Rangerstickles )

And who among us doesn't love STICKLES??  They are truly a staple in my supply closet, how about you?  Well, they've gone and introduced MORE beautiful colors from new designer GLITTER stickles in 6 new colors and 12 new Distress Stickle colors from Tim Holtz.  The new Tim Holtz ones are to match those distressed inks.  *swoon* Stickles...how do I love thee...let me count the ways!

So, this is just a bit of an overview of the new goodies showing up in the store sometime within the next 1-6 months!  :)  I think we've got some of the big companies that we KNOW are our favorites like Basic Grey, Maya Road, Making Memories, Pink Paislee and much more.  We also ordered from a few of the new smaller companies like Ribbon Ring, Kaiser Craft, etc. just 'cuz they were great and can't wait to show them to you!

The blog may be a bit quiet over the next week as I'm going to have sketchy internet service at best out on the campground.  I'll try to get some posts scheduled through the week though, so you at least have something fun to read!

If you're really bored and am missing some AWDML lovin'...head on over to the Design Team's blog!  They post daily and they have a tremendous amount of inspiration and knowledge to share!

Oh, and if you haven't been to the Message Boards lately, you should check it out.  Our Make Me a Super Scrapper contest voting wraps up on Saturday, August 2 and you should see the gallery!  These gals totally are Super Scrappers!!

Almost a winner.....

Mmroom  Oh girls...do I have a story for you!  :)

Inside the Making Memories booth at CHA, there was a corner that held a made up little scrapbook room.  Inside there was a desk with a Slice, desktop organizer, Slice bag, trimmer, self-healing mat and then you can see the fully loaded embellishment center, and then a cute little bookcase filled with baskets and baskets of product.

Every retailer that placed an order with Making Memories over the weekend could guess the total retail value of the room (including the furniture).  Anyone that was within $100 got placed into a drawing on Sunday afternoon at 2PM.  So, when I dropped off my order, I checked out the room and guessed it at $3,900.

They said that there were 6 people who were within $100 of the correct price.  Well, guess who was one of those in the drawing?????  Yep, you guessed it...ME!  They announced that the total retail value of the room was $3,885.46 making me $14.54 off.  Knowing my luck, I figured I wouldn't be the winner of this awesome room 'cuz I NEVER win any kind of drawing!  LOL

The poor guy who was doing all of the yelling at the MM booth took my order from me, and my guess, so he KNEW I was pretty darned close.  But, yeah....my luck wouldn't change as far as a drawing goes.  :(  Another gal won the beautiful room.  :(  She appeared a little while after the drawing and looked like a very nice lady and I'm happy she won.  When I was telling my hubby about it that night, he said "yeah, but where would you PUT all that stuff?"  Hmmm, I wasn't thinking about that at the time!   LOL  I figured I'd MAKE room!  LOLMmguyandme

But, all is well, and me and the guy from Making Memories are still friends!  LOL  This was taken after the drawing was announced and the booth cleared out.  Oh, and he also told me that us 5 who didn't win the booth would be getting a nice little goodie box from Making Memories in October when the SLICE was shipping!  EEEKSS!

So, I guess I'll try again next time and hope that the next time it's based on pure talent guessing the retail price instead of a drawing!  LOL

Mmsad_2Seriously, no hard feelings Making Memories, or the gal that won!  You guys totally rock, love your product and your company...but I couldn't help but take a picture of me sitting in what *could* have been my beautiful scrapbook room...ahhhh what could have been.....   :)

More CHA Pictures - People I Met

Jessandme I finally got all of our pictures downloaded off the camera and laptop, so I'll be posting some more pictures from Chicago!

Today you'll get to see a bit of the people I met while I was away.  The first picture is of Jessica and me.  Jess is on the left.  Jessica is my Design Team Coordinator and I've known her for almost a year now.  She flew in from Portland to Timholtzhelp me out during the show.  She was fantastic, helping take pictures of product, picking up catalogs and helping me plan kits for the next 6 months.

Here Mr. Tim Holtz is in the Ranger booth showing off a make and take project with some of his new metal embellishments.  I also snagged a peek at some of the new STICKLES!!!  Yep, a bunch more stickles are on their way to the store including Stickles that are DISTRESSED to match the ink pads!  :)  I also got some of the new designer stickles that are so pretty!

Of course, there is always a HUGE swarm of women swooning over Tim, so I didn't get a picture *with* him but just watching him work was amazing!  Such a creative guy!

Taylorandme Up next is Taylor Van Bruggen.  You may remember her from our Guest Design Team we put together in March.  She has an awesome blog for card making, stamping, and other creative goodies.  She was my sister's roommate in college, so that's how we got hooked up a long while ago.  :)

She is another creative soul who does some fabulous work with Copic Markers, Prismacolor colored pencils and other stamping tools.

Stacyjulianandme  I'm sure a lot of you recognize this next face.  :)  It's Stacy Julian from Simple Scrapbooks and Big Picture Scrapbooking.  I have taken almost all of the classes over at BPS and really like their format.  Stacy and I chatted a bit about her Library of Memories class and how she was working on something for the stores and the class.  So, look for more info about that sometime later!  I'm really excited about the possibilities of Stacy coming over and showing us how to make her Library of Memories theories work for all of us and our piles of photos!  She really was the nicest gal to talk with!

Heidigraceandme Here's Heidi Grace!!!  I was so excited to meet up with her during the show!  She was at the Fiskars booth for a few hours doing random little sketches for us.  I got the CUTEST little sketch of a little girl in a flower garden...I'm so excited to put it in my little mini album I'm planning for all of my CHA photos!  She designs some of the cutest papers and embellishments and such and I just love her work.  She was so sweet to draw up my little girl in a flower garden for me....it's just perfect!Alieandme_2

The last picture for this post  is of me and Ali Edwards.  She is another one of those creative geniuses that I hope I gleaned a bit of creativity just being around them!!  She was there signing her new Mini Album book that should be shipping out any time now (which of course we have on order and should be in the store soon!!).  She was so sweet to stop and take pictures with us and sign my book even though we were about 15 minutes late.  My sister is a HUGE fan of Ali's so, being the sister that I am...I had Ali sign it for Amy.  Of course I had to call her right away and tell her what happened!  LOL  Poor girl was stuck at work!  LOL

OK, so this is pretty much it for the *who* I saw during CHA.  I did meet Alicia Barry as well, but I failed to get a picture with her.  DUH me huh?  She is on a DT with Jessica and is a teacher at My Creative Classroom.  We got to chatting a bit about her classes and my store and how we can team them up, so you can bet you'll see some collaboration between us sometime soon as well!

That's what I love about CHA.  Set aside being able to see all the new goodies, and drool all over them.  I love meeting the people who make this industry so much fun to work in.  I love being able to meet people who I've admired their work, I love meeting others who have the same passion as I do, and how we can network together to make our little businesses grow to new heights!

Oh, and a side note...I already have confirmation from one company that I ordered from at CHA.  The new goodies are gonna start rolling in next week already!  WHOO HOO!!!

CHA Day 1 Pictures - Scenic Route

Scenicroutesonoma Are ya diggin' the Sonoma collecion from Scenic Route?  The pictures here do NOT do this line justice.  It's so hard to get good photos of these lines in a dark convention center with lighting that is "spotty" at best.  So sorry about that!

Let me tell you though, this line is so pretty with kraft browns, olive greens, salmon and a bit of mulberry.

Another mini-line coming out is the Celebrate collection.  This is a very cute and colorful line that is on it's way into the store!

Well, that's it for tonight.  We will be pouring over catalogs tonight and getting orders ready.  Tomorrow we'll drop off some orders, take more pictures, and hopefully take a few little make and takes for some classes for you!

CHA Day 1 Pictures - Making Memories

Mmfalala How about a little sneaky peek of Making Memories new goodies?

A new Christmas line, a new Halloween line, and 4 fun color-themed collections.  Here is the Christmas line called Fa-la-la.  Glittered papers, diecut papers, etc.  Just what we've come to expect from one of our favorite companies!

Mmfalalastickers Here is a close-up of some of the stickers with this line.  Mini-alpha stickers, glittered foam trees, epoxy stickers.  It's beginning to Mmpoolsidepaperslook a lot like Christmas!

Here is one of the color-based lines called Poolside.  Beautiful cool blues in 6 papers with various embellishments to Mmgreenhousepaperscoordinate.

Greenhouse is another of the color-based lines in a gorgeous green.  Also available is a rose/pink and chocolate brown.  Another must-have in every scrapper's toolbox!

CHA Day 1 Pictures - Doodlebug

Doodlebugflockedglitternew_2 OK, so we all know Doodlebug has some of the cutest bright, colorful and happy papers out there right?  Well they did NOT disappoint this show either!  Here is a samle of their newest spot flocked Doodlebugbraddies_2 and spot glittered papers!  Available in all 12 of  their signature colors, they are just so pretty!

How about a few adorable little "Braddies"?  Perfectly petite little flower brads with the Doodlebug touch.  These are already available in their boutique brads package, but now you can get just the flowers by themselves.  Of course they're available in all 12 Doodlebug Designs colors.

Doodlebugshindigalpha

Last picture for the Doodelbug group is a new alphabet font for stickers.  Available in flocked and glittered, this new font is sure to become a staple in everyone's stash.

CHA Day 1 Pictures - Misc. goodies

Bobunnyacrylicalbums_3 Bo Bunny introduced some new paper lines, but we need to get some better pictures.  This is one I just couldn't not show you!  :)

New acrylic albums with various shapes in each book.  This one is the floral one with some cool flowers and even a flowerpot shape in the back.

Chatterboxcupcakes_2 Check out these paper cupcakes from the Chatterbox booth.  They look almost good enough to eat don't they?  Fun glitter toppings, swirls, curls of paper, just beautiful.  Their new paper line is just gorgeous too!  We'll get better pictures soon!

Kimemoriespolyoverlays_2 How about these BEAUTIFUL NEW plastic OVERLAYS from KI Memories!!  They are to DIE for!!  So cool.  Made from acid-free polypropelene they are stiffer than a transparency but not as thick as acrylics used in albums, etc.  These are definitely in my top list of things NOT to miss!

KI is also coming out with a new school line and holiday line that are just so much fun!  But, what else do we expect from KI?  :D

Day 1 CHA Pictures - Basic Grey

Basicgreyambrosiaforblog Basic Grey.  Need I say more??  They have 5 new lines this show, along with new rubons, new clear stamps, and some AWESOME new chipboard albums available in "Milk Chocolate" and "Dark Chocolate".

The line to the left is called Ambrosia.  Beautiful warm oranges, greys, yellows, red and a touch of black and white.  They were told by customers to bring back the Black Tie collection, so they did one better!  Now we get some beautiful, updated black and white papers along with some truly gorgeous colors.  The papers are Basicgreyevaforblog double-sided, there is matching brads, glazed brads, buttons, chip stickers, alphabets...YUMM!

Next up is the Eva line.  Another gorgeous line by Basic Grey.  Basic Grey says "Eva is reminiscent of the French Court - a mix of the exotic and the dignified, the gracious and the gallant.  Let Eva add a posh touch to your next project."  I couldn't say it better myself!

They have a fun new retro/boy/natural line called Offbeat.  this is a fun line but I didn't get good pictures of it, so that will have to wait.

Granola is "all  natural with organic ingredients" using lots of greys, a little bit of tan and a little bit of blue.  This is a great guy collection with a few flowers, but nothing too feminine.

BasicgreyminichipalbumsUrban Prarie is another flowery and bright kit with a hot pink, yellow, bluebird and bright green.  They say it's "city-chic with a country flair".  Yup, totally agree!  We'll get better pictures of these 3 lines tomorrow and try again!

I want to show you a picture of their new chipboard albums though!  These are soooo very cool!  7 new chipboard album shapes in a black or brown finish.
