Fabulous Friday Finds

AliesharingyourstoryNormally on Fridays I try to highlight some older scrapbook supplies that you may not know we carry.  Today I'm gonna show off some of the new things we've just got in the store from CHA.

At left, you'll see the cover of the new Ali Edwards Idea book called Sharing your Story.  It is a beautiful idea book with a TON of ideas on making mini albums.  This comes at a GREAT time, when we're starting to look at the calendar and toward the holidays.  Many people are making their Christmas gifts this year, as the economy grows tighter, and we're trying to help as best as we can!  All of our idea books are currently 25% off their regular price.  We will probably continue to keep our idea books on sale through Christmas.  We got in a number of idea books at CHA.  Not all of them are new, but some are still GREAT idea books from Ali Edwards, Becky Higgins, Lisa Bearnson, Donna Downey and more.
Speaking of "do-it-yourself" gifts, have you been through our Things to Alter aisle lately? We've got in the new Cosmo Cricket Blackboard mini albums in a variety of styles.  How about the Clear Scraps chipboard and acrylic albums.  The one shown at right is the clear All Mixed Up album by Clear Scraps.  This one is so cute with all of the various edges.

Glueglidermax If you'll be making gifts, you'll want a nice, strong adhesive!  We just got in the Glue Glider Max by Glue Arts along with the refill cartridges.  This is a permanent adhesive comparable to the 3M ATG guns that everyone is familiar with.  This little (well I guess it's not so little) contraption makes changing your refills a breeze!  There are various sizes of adhesive cartridges, along with 3 different tackiness to choose from.

OK, well, just a last reminder that our $5 shipping sale ends on Labor Day.  So if you have shopping cards loaded up with all of our CHA goodies we've received so far, now would be a GREAT time to finalize your shopping list.  'Cuz once the $5 shipping is done...we may not do a shipping sale until close to Christmas, and I just KNOW you guys can't wait THAT long for new goodies can ya?  *wink*

I hope everyone has a fabulous and save Labor Day weekend.  We'll be out enjoying our nice weather with a campfire at a friend's house on Friday night, a BBQ at my hubby's family on Saturday, LifeLight concerts all day Sunday with the final concert being CASTING CROWNS, and Monday we're heading to shop 'cuz my girl needs some new jeans and tennis shoes!

Missed a few days! New goodies though!

AccardstockcolorsSorry I have been missing the past couple of days.  I haven't been gone, just busy!  :)  I have been unpacking, counting, uploading dozens and dozens of new scrappy goodness to the store at A Walk Down Memory Lane!

On the left, you can see the newest scrapbook cardstock to be released and uploaded to the store.....American Crafts cardstock has arrived!  This cardstock by American Crafts is 80 pound cover weight, so it is a really nice thick weight for our pages and cards.  It has a beautiful weave texture similar to the BaAccardstockweave_angle_2zzill canvas texture.  Here is a closeup of one of the cardstocks so you can see the texture up close and personal!

It is textured on one side and smooth on the other side, so it's perfect for scrapbookers who want texture and stampers who want smooth.  It also diecuts like a dream on the Cricut machines, Klic-n-Kut machines, Craft Robo, Wishblades, Silhouettes, and the manual diecut machines like the Sizzix, Big Shot, Cuttlebug, etc.

The colors are gorgeous too.  We come to expect great things from American Crafts, and they did not disappoint with their new cardstock line!  75 colors of cardstock that matches their pattern paper collections, but they also will match other lines as well because they have chosen the most beautiful earthy neutrals, gorgeous vibrant primary colors and everything in between!

Monday Memer Highlights

Summer_bliss Another Monday is upon us, and I haven't done a Member Highlight for a few weeks.

I've been strolling through the gallery this morning and have seen some AWESOME work uploaded!  If you haven't been to the gallery lately, you should check it out 'cuz the girls are ROCKIN' the place!

The layout to the left is by mommysews and was inspired by our August sketch challenge on the message board.  This layout uses papers from Little Yellow Bicycle, Prima Say it in Crystals, Versamark Ink, along with some other supplies from her tool chest.  Foolinaround_edited1

This next layout was uploaded by audreykit.  I love the way everything is put at a little bit of an angle to add to the playfulness of the title "foolin' around".  Did you notice the cool little picture booth type strip of photos along the side?  That's a GREAT way to add a lot of pictures to a layout without overwhelming the page.  She used Basic Grey Archaic papers and cardstock alphabet stickers, and Bazzill cardstock.

If you are looking for some inspiration, you should check out the Challenges section of our message board!  Each month, the Design team comes up with challenges for you.  They can range from a recipe, to a sketch, an ad challenge, a lyric challenge and much more!  PLUS, anyone that uploads a layout to the challenge section in the gallery and posts their layout to the message board, is entered into a drawing for a little prize from the store!  The July challenge winner won a brand-spankin' new set of American Crafts Puffy Thicker Sticker elements!!  Our challenges run from the 15th to the 14th so you have a full month to complete the challenges.  Our August challenges were just uploaded on the 15th so you have plenty of time to get a layout complete!  See you on the boards!

Fabulous Friday Finds

Atbpapergator Happy Friday morning!!  This Friday we will be taking a stroll down the tool aisle of the store at A Walk Down Memory Lane.  I have almost 200 different tools in the store from cutting tools, non-cutting tools, templates, pens, etc.

Our first tool today is the Around the Block Paper Gator.  Have you seen this little thing??  It is a corner rounder, but it is NOT your ordinary corner rounder!  You can easily round corners on literally a STACK of paper, or even chipboard!

Do you make your own chipboard mini albums?  Do you want that cool rounded corner without having to try and cut it with your craft knife?  Well, this little baby will round your corners with a push of just one little finger!  At CHA, I was able to round the corner of an entire catalog, just using my index finger.  There are also different "blades" for the Paper Gator.  YBobunnycuttingmatou can have an angled corner, or larger or smaller rounded corners, depending on your preference.

IsNrck437knifepen_webn't the Bo Bunny self-healing cutting mat pretty?  It's such a pretty pink, with flourishes along the side, that I leave mine hanging on a peg above my table.  This mat is 6" x 12" so it's a nice size for carrying along to a crop.  There are white grid marks every half inch too, so getting a straight cut is a breeze.

And if you have a self-healing cutting mat, you need a matching craft knife right?  Well Bo Bunny thought of that as well!  This pretty craft knife is retractable, so you needn't worry about cutting yourself when digging around your tool drawer.  It also comes with 5 blades too, so you'll be able to cut till your heart's content without worrying about a dull blade!

For you card-makers out there, have you checked out the ScoritboardScor-it Board?  This is a wicked awesome tool for making beautifully perfect scores each and every time!  This board produces a true hinge score to make your cards look like a store-bought card!

It's simple to use, and has a useful centering ruler, and stop-guide ease of use.  Simply hold the score tool like a pencil, find the groove in the tool, and follow the metal ridge to score your paper!

We also carry the mini Scor-it board as well, which works the exact same way, only it has a smaller footprint on your work area.

Maplelanetoolkit For those of you who are already thinking about Christmas gifts, check out this next set!!  Our starter kit has every basic tool a new scrapper needs!  It comes with the pink tote, pink Cutterpede Paper trimmer, a Cutterpede Score Blade for folding paper, a Cutter Bee Scissors, a Black 05 Zig Millennium pen, Zig 2 way chisel tip glue, Herma removable adhesive, a medium corner rounder, and a mini Fascenator with 48 staple bars.

Plus, this kit is a GREAT VALUE!  This kit normally retails for $79.99 and we currently have it listed in our store for $49.99 saving you almost 40% off the regular price of this kit.

Back to School

Primaryplayfulpaisley WOW!  Where did summer go?  I can't believe that tomorrow we send our kids back to school here.  It seems that every year we start a few days earlier than the year before!

We start our first day of school at one of the churches near the Christian school.  We have opening exercises and then send our kids off with their teachers.  Last year, I sent my daughter to Kindergarten.  I'll never forget the Principal telling us first time moms..."don't worry moms, we'll take GOOD care of them!".  LOL...I was so proud of myself that I didn't cry at church.

It sure was lonely at home that day though!

We have just started our school days here at our house.  The past 2 years, I have taken pictures of my daughter stepping out of the house with her backpack on.  She's just waiting at the door, holding it open, and looking up at me.  So, I'll try to capture her leaving our house yet again tomorrow.

Do you have any first day of school routines?  Any must-take pictures?

At A Walk Down Memory Lane, we stock over 1,000 differennt varieties of pattern papers.  Who says you need a piece of paper that says "First Day of School" on it to work with your school layouts?  We have many different color combinations, patterns, etc that would work with ANY school picture.  Pictured above is the Doodlebug Primary Paisleys.  While it could definitely be used for a back to school picture, it could just as easily be used for any school picture, toddlers, or even playing off a primiary colored shirt your child is wearing in the picture.

We like to encourage our customers to look at the possibilities of our pattern papers using the colors and patterns within the papers, instead of looking *just* for a specific theme.  We believe our papers are more versatile than a themed paper, because they can be used for just about ANYTHING!  :)

Fiskars Treading Water punch is BACK in stock!

Fiskarstreadingwaterborderpunch For those of you who are still looking for that elusive Fiskars Treading Water punch...we have it back in stock.  I'm sure it won't take long to sell out the few we got in, but no worries...more were ordered at CHA, so I'm hoping we'll have more soon!

If you've been looking for this punch, you'd better hurry and get yours ASAP 'cuz they never last long!

Happy Day birdie

Happyday This is a fun little card I made a while back.  It uses a Heidi Grace stamp on the tag, which I colored in with my Prismacolor colored pencils and blended with Odorless Mineral Spirits.  I punched the tag out with a SU! punch and inked around the edges.  I used a stapler to staple the ribbon to the tag.

I used my Fiskars scallop scissors to cut the pattern paper strip. The sentiment is also from Heidi Grace stamps and I attached it with a Making Memories crystal brad.
