A Fun Challenge for you!

I'm in a bit of a funk this week...I'm looking for some new sketch sites for cards and layouts.  As you can see, I have some on the left side of my blog, and they're great, but I'm looking for some new ones.

If you post a link to your favorite sketch site in the comments section of the blog, I'll enter your name into a drawing for a $5 gift certificate to the store!

Edited to add....I'll leave the comments open through the weekend.

AWESOME Color Combination Site

ColorComboSite I was reading Marianne's blog this morning and she posted about this awesome Color Combination site from Adobe.  This site has all kinds of great color combinations that you can translate to cards, layouts and paper crafting projects or even home decorating.  You can choose your combinations by THEME, color, season or whatever...

Marianne's blog is all about Copic markers.  For those of you who get our Copic marker kits, this is a fantastic site to bookmark.  She posts helpful tips and tricks almost every day and beings she's the one who taught me in the Certification class, she's got WAY better information that I do!  :)

Cricut video using the Cricut Markers

I've had a lot of gals in the store, asking how the markers worked with the Cricut machine.

I ran into this blog the other day with a number of Cricut videos, and she had one posted on how the markers worked.

I hope after watching this video, you will understand a bit how the Cricut markers work.  Please let me know if you have any more questions!  :)

Something NEW is coming to the store!

ZingPlanogramOct08 For those of you who are online customers, you haven't seen the new stamping tool wall here at the B&M store.  Well, we've added some new stamping tools to the store lately, and will be uploading them to the online store soon!

For anyone who has ever tried wet embossing, you know how frustrating it is to have your embossed image not come out "just right".

Well, never fear!  American Crafts has listened to your thoughts and has come out with an AMA-ZING line of embossing powders.  There is an opaque finish, Metallic finish, neon colors, and even a glitter finish to their embossing powders!

These are really awesome powders, and work even on the most detailed of stamped images.

I'm feeling a cold coming on today, so I doubt I'll be up to doing any tutorials this weekend, but that is on the top of my list to get started next week!

February Card Kit - My Funny Valentine

You_retweet I really enjoyed putting the February card kit together!  It is soo cute with it's little Valentines cards sheet and all the hearts are so cute.  But, I really liked the color combination.  With the "normal" reds and pinks of Valentine's Day was a splash of teal/aqua blue.  I really liked how these colors played off each other in these papers.

Check out how Lynn used pieces of her papers to create this card on the left.  She cut apart the Valentine card and just used a few pieces from it.

On the right, Jessica used that same card from the paper,IMG_3256 but she left it in tact.  Even though she used the full card, she could still personalize it with some of the pearls, ribbon and a chipboard heart.

You can see lots of other cards that these two made with the February card kit here in the gallery.

I have made a couple of cards with this kit too, but need to get some pictures of them!  They're hanging up in the store, but I forgot to take pictures of them for the blog.  SORRY!

Check out my AWESOME Design Team!

Thelittletrain I don't know how many of you are aware that we have a Design Team that posts on their own blog every day....but if you didn't know that, you should really hop on over there and check it out!

Every day there is a new post from one of the girls there.  It may be a card, a layout, a project, or just a fun spot they've found on the Internet.  Every Saturday there is a class and every Sunday there is a challenge to help you along your creative journey.

This layout to the left is from Angie.  She used Piggy Tales papers, etc which is great, as they are our featured manufacturer this month.  Every month, a new manufacturer takes the spotlight and saves you 15% off on everything from that manufacturer!  So, if you haven't heard of Piggy Tales, check it out in the storeHappiness_tnThey have some beautiful stuff!

Here are some layouts from the team using the February She Said kit.   This kit is filled with girly goodness from My Mind's Eye and Sandylion.  Check out Liza's layout to the right.  The MME papers are just sooo fun and colorful.

Cutie_pie The layout here on the left is Lucy's.  She used the Sandylion papers and some Maya Road chipboard, AND the Tim Holtz mask with the Maya Mists.  Some really fun things to play with in this kit along with the gorgeous papers and embellishments, no?

I really like the strips that Lynn used to create this card.  Hi_card2 You get a sneak peek of some of the gorgeous papers in the kit.

Tomorrow, you'll see some pictures of the February card kit.  I think this one was sooo cute, and can see why it is almost sold out already!

Some of them I've seen before, but there was a plethora of new sites to check out!

Attention STAMPERS! New goodies in the store!!

PennyBlackZoophabe1 Ohhhh, stampers....come quick!  You'll want to see ALL of the new goodies that have been shipped to the store here at A Walk Down Memory Lane!

We have some favorites like Penny Black (I've owned some of these myself, but I finally am able to offer them here at the store), Unity Stamp Company, The Greeting Farm, are just 3 of the new companies I've uploaded to the store the past couple of days.

These stamps are just too cool!  With lots of new images, but some new sayings as well.

Here you can see on the left is a sample of the Penny Black Zoophabet stamp set.  This alphabet set is not your "ordinary" alpha.  This one has cool little animals and characters designed in with the letters.  This set is extremely hard to find online, and is sold out all over the place, but we have some HERE!

Have you heard about Unity Stamp Company yet?  These are some awesome little stamps that you can get either unmounted, or mounted on their signature mounts.  We have a mix of both, but have found that you don't "need" to get the mount for the stamps that come mounted on a slim wood base.  This base is sturdy enough that you can stamp with that alone.  OR you can get some of their images in pre-cut, cling-mounted form.  Which, you can obviously use with any of your acrylic blocks.
