Anniversary Celebration at Willow Traders

LucyLOSketch March isn't just A Walk Down Memory Lane's anniversary...it's also the anniversary of Willow Traders.  WT is a message board for anyone who loves scrapbook kits.

Today, is AWDML's day to celebrate over at WT so our Design Team has put together some amazing challenges and games to play with the Willows.

If you're not a member there, feel free to post here and play along with us!

Here is the first challenge for you!  <---see over there?  That is a sketch that Lucy drew up.  Use this sketch to inspire your next layout.  Post your layout to any online gallery or blog, and post a link in the comments section directly to your post (please don't just post a link to your blog).

We are offering a $20 gift certificate to the winner who will be drawn from all of our participants...soooo, c'mon let's get sketchy!

I Missed the Shipping Special!

This week....Flat rate shipping is $5.50 and Free shipping is after $55.

In-Store Sketch Challenge

PageMapsContestSketch For those of you who shop at our physical storefront, you should have gotten an email with information about this month's sketch contest.

We are starting a new contest at the store each month, and this month's challenge is to use this sketch.

We have extended the due-date to Saturday, March 21.  The store closes at noon on Saturdays, so please have your layout to us by then.  Please have your layout labeled, so we can return your layout to you after the contest is over.

How does it work?

Well, basically, you take this sketch, which we found at the Page Maps website.  If you aren't familiar with Page Maps...head on over there!  We carry their idea book, but she's constantly adding new sketches to her site every month!

Anyway, you start your layout similar to the sketch.  Now, your layout does NOT have to be exactly like the layout, however we should be able to see some resemblance to the sketch.  But, feel free to change it!  Maybe you don't have the Artesian shaped paper, use a scallop circle, a regular circle, whatever!  Maybe you don't have photos the "right size" for the layout.  That's fine!  Combine the two smaller photos into 1 larger photo.  Add a photo instead of the flower embellishment.  Don't want a flower?  No problem!  Use a star, another photo, a paisley, a flourish, whatever suits your fancy and your page!

After you are finished, please bring in your labeled layout, and we'll display all of our entrants in the entryway of the store in our cool white 12x12 frames.  :)  Customers that come in, will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite.

If your layout is chosen, you will earn a $10 gift card to the store!!MarSketchChallengeSample

To the right is a sample layout that I did using the sketch as my basis point.  As you can see, I have changed it up a bit.  :)  I rotated the sketch 90 degrees so that the KI Memories Sheer Delights is coming from the bottom.  I changed the direction of the large photo to be portrait instead of landscape and I moved my smaller photos around a bit as well.  I moved my large flower embellishment to the right side of the page and added a few other embellishments.

There is officially NO MORE ROOM!

CCSnorkelUmbrellas Oh boy girls....I think I have officially ran out of room.  There is just no more room here at the store for any more new goodies!!!  It's full.  For those of you who have been to the store, you know what cramped quarters we were in already back in October when we moved.  Well...now we've got CHA stuff coming weekly, and boy oh boy, we're just stuffed!

We have boxes and boxes of new CHA stuff waiting to be put in their proper areas...so, I thought before putting them away, I'd show them all off to you!

To the left, you'll see the Umbrellas paper from the new Cosmo Cricket Snorkel Line.  Of course, we also brought in Girl Friday and Ever After from Cosmo Cricket.  Look for matching ribbons, rubons, chipboard and a new Blackboard album as well!

LYBBabySafariBoy6x6Paper Next up is Little Yellow Bicycle...oh man, just looking at these new collections make me wanna have a baby, just to be able to use some of these beautiful things!  Seriously, so many beautiful things...where do I start?  On the right, you see the ultra-cool 6x6 paper pad for boys (and of course we have it in girls as well).  This paper pad has diecut 6x6 shaped papers that fit exactly on their 6x6 chipboard album.  Can it get any easier than that?  Plus, there are matching stickers, rubons, glittered paper, varnished paper, diecut paper, and the most beautiful transparent fPPEnchantingDeliciousrames and titles you've ever SEEN!

Pink Paislee is here as well.  They have come up with a most gorgeous line that didn't scream Pink Paislee when I first saw it...but the closer I looked, the more beautiful it became.  They now have matching brads and fabric flowers to each collection and they are just to die for.  Such beautiful colors and textures that you can add to your pages and cards so very easily now!

For you stampers and Ali Edwards fans, we've added Technique Tuesday stamps to our lineup.  We've chosen a few stamps, along with some Ali Edwards stamps to start our Technique Tuesday selection.  I'm sure these won't last long, as we just got a sampling of their line, but never fear....more will be on their way soon!

Cool Candy Boxes

KarmaTreatBoxes One of my obscenely creative customers, Karma V.V. brought in a project that she made using some of the BEAUTIFUL Doodlebug papers.  She is making them for all of the guests at the dinner for the Junior-Senior prom at our local high school.  Karma is so very talented, not only with paper crafting, but painting as well...I was lucky enough to receive one of her painted rocks as a gift last year, and it is just soooo beautiful!

She made the nugget boxes using the Doodlebug Chenille Spot Flocked papers for the outside of the box.  She used Bazzill cardstock for the bottom of the box.  She used the Doodlebug Boutique Striped papers for the candy wrappers.

You can see a tutorial for these cool little nugget boxes at Split Coast Stampers.
