Good Friday afternoon everyone! :)
We haven't done a Fabulous Friday Find on the blog for a LOOOONG time, so I'm thinking it'll be fun to go through the store and find some really cool Fabulous Finds of products, you may not know we carry!
Check out this really cool Overlay from Hambly Studios! This wood-grained overlay would be a great addition to a cardstock background, for a fall page!
We carry a number of Overlays from Hambly, Best Creations, Fancy Pants, and some of the overlays can not only be used as background, but also as page embellishments, or even journaling spots!
When journaling on an overlay, make sure to use American Craft's Slick Writer. This pen is specially made to work on any non-porous surface like plastic, glass, acrylic, etc.
Hope you have a GREAT weekend! We have a crop tonight here at the store, so I'll be hanging out with a great group of ladies until midnight tonight!
If you're in the area, we have a few spots left before we're full, so call for a spot!
Do you remember THIS POST from July? I had entered a drawing for a scrapbook room filled with Making Memories goodies. I was off by less than $15 but didn't win the drawing. :(
Well, today, I got a FedEx package and my prize was inside!!!!!! I got a Slice and a spatula from Making Memories. Now I wanna play, play, play with my new toy, but I have to wait until tonight.
We have our monthly hobby night at church, so I'll take it along there and test it out. I think I'll use it for one of our Make & Takes during November.
I have some of these on order, as well as the cards for Animal Crackers, Noteworthy, etc. The Fa la la cards and the card totes are here already. I'm hoping the Slices and the other cards should be here sometime next week!
I just adore adding flowers to any layout, card, or project. It seems that flowers give it just the perfect finishing touch. PLUS, think of all the ways you can finish off your flower! It gives us the opportunity to use all those teeny, tiny brads, buttons, Dew Drops, eyelets, stickers, punches, etc that are sitting around in your scrapbook room.
We currently have 97 different varieties of FLOWERS you can add to your paper craft projects from a variety of manufacturers. American Crafts, Bazzill, Bo Bunny, Cloud 9, Heidi Swapp, and Imaginisce are just a few of the varieties we carry. You can find all different textures as well. Some are paper, mulberry, silk, crocheted, velvet, felt, plastic, and chipboard.
So, my challenge to you this weekend is to use up that flower stash, and show me some cool ways to adhere your flowers, or some unique ways to finish your flower centers off.
Some ideas are:

Show me what you can do!!
At left, you'll see the cover of the new Ali Edwards Idea book called Sharing your Story. It is a beautiful idea book with a TON of ideas on making mini albums. This comes at a GREAT time, when we're starting to look at the calendar and toward the holidays. Many people are making their Christmas gifts this year, as the economy grows tighter, and we're trying to help as best as we can! All of our idea books are currently 25% off their regular price. We will probably continue to keep our idea books on sale through Christmas. We got in a number of idea books at CHA. Not all of them are new, but some are still GREAT idea books from Ali Edwards, Becky Higgins, Lisa Bearnson, Donna Downey and more.
Speaking of "do-it-yourself" gifts, have you been through our Things to Alter aisle lately? We've got in the new Cosmo Cricket Blackboard mini albums in a variety of styles. How about the Clear Scraps chipboard and acrylic albums. The one shown at right is the clear All Mixed Up album by Clear Scraps. This one is so cute with all of the various edges.
If you'll be making gifts, you'll want a nice, strong adhesive! We just got in the Glue Glider Max by Glue Arts along with the refill cartridges. This is a permanent adhesive comparable to the 3M ATG guns that everyone is familiar with. This little (well I guess it's not so little) contraption makes changing your refills a breeze! There are various sizes of adhesive cartridges, along with 3 different tackiness to choose from.
OK, well, just a last reminder that our $5 shipping sale ends on Labor Day. So if you have shopping cards loaded up with all of our CHA goodies we've received so far, now would be a GREAT time to finalize your shopping list. 'Cuz once the $5 shipping is done...we may not do a shipping sale until close to Christmas, and I just KNOW you guys can't wait THAT long for new goodies can ya? *wink*
I hope everyone has a fabulous and save Labor Day weekend. We'll be out enjoying our nice weather with a campfire at a friend's house on Friday night, a BBQ at my hubby's family on Saturday, LifeLight concerts all day Sunday with the final concert being CASTING CROWNS, and Monday we're heading to shop 'cuz my girl needs some new jeans and tennis shoes!
Happy Friday morning!! This Friday we will be taking a stroll down the tool aisle of the store at A Walk Down Memory Lane. I have almost 200 different tools in the store from cutting tools, non-cutting tools, templates, pens, etc.
Our first tool today is the Around the Block Paper Gator. Have you seen this little thing?? It is a corner rounder, but it is NOT your ordinary corner rounder! You can easily round corners on literally a STACK of paper, or even chipboard!
Do you make your own chipboard mini albums? Do you want that cool rounded corner without having to try and cut it with your craft knife? Well, this little baby will round your corners with a push of just one little finger! At CHA, I was able to round the corner of an entire catalog, just using my index finger. There are also different "blades" for the Paper Gator. You can have an angled corner, or larger or smaller rounded corners, depending on your preference.
Isn't the Bo Bunny self-healing cutting mat pretty? It's such a pretty pink, with flourishes along the side, that I leave mine hanging on a peg above my table. This mat is 6" x 12" so it's a nice size for carrying along to a crop. There are white grid marks every half inch too, so getting a straight cut is a breeze.
And if you have a self-healing cutting mat, you need a matching craft knife right? Well Bo Bunny thought of that as well! This pretty craft knife is retractable, so you needn't worry about cutting yourself when digging around your tool drawer. It also comes with 5 blades too, so you'll be able to cut till your heart's content without worrying about a dull blade!
For you card-makers out there, have you checked out the Scor-it Board? This is a wicked awesome tool for making beautifully perfect scores each and every time! This board produces a true hinge score to make your cards look like a store-bought card!
It's simple to use, and has a useful centering ruler, and stop-guide ease of use. Simply hold the score tool like a pencil, find the groove in the tool, and follow the metal ridge to score your paper!
We also carry the mini Scor-it board as well, which works the exact same way, only it has a smaller footprint on your work area.
For those of you who are already thinking about Christmas gifts, check out this next set!! Our starter kit has every basic tool a new scrapper needs! It comes with the pink tote, pink Cutterpede Paper trimmer, a Cutterpede Score Blade for folding paper, a Cutter Bee Scissors, a Black 05 Zig Millennium pen, Zig 2 way chisel tip glue, Herma removable adhesive, a medium corner rounder, and a mini Fascenator with 48 staple bars.
Plus, this kit is a GREAT VALUE! This kit normally retails for $79.99 and we currently have it listed in our store for $49.99 saving you almost 40% off the regular price of this kit.
For today's Fabulous Finds...you will be taken down the NEW PRODUCTS aisle of the store at A Walk Down Memory Lane. And today's stroll is brought to you by the #139.
Why 139? Well, that's the count of new products added to the store since the first of August!! We're talking Basic Grey, Bazzill, Tinkering Ink, Cosmo Cricket, Idea Books from CK Media, The Ribbon Ring, October Afternoon, Glue Arts, We R Memory Keepers and many more!
Are you looking for some new CHA releases? Well, check out the Ribbon Ring section, or Cosmo Cricket! We have some new papers from Mr. Campy, Haunted, and Jack's World with embellishments like ribbon and Black Board pieces on order. How about some beautiful new Bazzill brads in either a bling or paper finish? They're completely different finishes to the brads, but both of them are just BEAUTIFUL. The paper brads have so many options because you can ink them, chalk them, distress them...oh my, what to try first?
We also added a number of idea books to the store as well. Ali Edwards Designer Eye both 1 and 2, Ali Edwards Life Artist, Donna Downey books, Lisa Bearnson's 50 Moments, and a few other popular titles.
Looking for a unique mini album to try out? Check out Tinkering Ink's Peek a Boo albums! With a mixture of both chipboard AND acrylic pages, these are really fun. If you haven't tried acrylic, this combination helps ease your way into an acrylic page...especially when mixed with tried and true chipboard.
You will want to watch the blog for a blog candy announcement on Sunday...we've got some NOT YET SHIPPED goodies from CHA from Scenic Route, Basic Grey, My Mind's Eye, October Afternoon and Pink Paislee that we're gonna be giving away!! It'll be pretty easy to get into the drawing...so check back on Sunday!!!
Are ya diggin' the Sonoma collecion from Scenic Route? The pictures here do NOT do this line justice. It's so hard to get good photos of these lines in a dark convention center with lighting that is "spotty" at best. So sorry about that!
Let me tell you though, this line is so pretty with kraft browns, olive greens, salmon and a bit of mulberry.
Another mini-line coming out is the Celebrate collection. This is a very cute and colorful line that is on it's way into the store!
Well, that's it for tonight. We will be pouring over catalogs tonight and getting orders ready. Tomorrow we'll drop off some orders, take more pictures, and hopefully take a few little make and takes for some classes for you!
A new Christmas line, a new Halloween line, and 4 fun color-themed collections. Here is the Christmas line called Fa-la-la. Glittered papers, diecut papers, etc. Just what we've come to expect from one of our favorite companies!
Greenhouse is another of the color-based lines in a gorgeous green. Also available is a rose/pink and chocolate brown. Another must-have in every scrapper's toolbox!
OK, so we all know Doodlebug has some of the cutest bright, colorful and happy papers out there right? Well they did NOT disappoint this show either! Here is a samle of their newest spot flocked and spot glittered papers! Available in all 12 of their signature colors, they are just so pretty!
How about a few adorable little "Braddies"? Perfectly petite little flower brads with the Doodlebug touch. These are already available in their boutique brads package, but now you can get just the flowers by themselves. Of course they're available in all 12 Doodlebug Designs colors.
Last picture for the Doodelbug group is a new alphabet font for stickers. Available in flocked and glittered, this new font is sure to become a staple in everyone's stash.
