Cloud 9 Mini Gift Album

SamAlbum1It's a beautiful Monday morning here in northwest Iowa.  We had a really stormy week last week, with thunderstorms, tornadoes, and just all around not so nice weather last week.  This morning it's calm and the sun is out, and even though it will be warm, I hope we can avoid the humidity!

Today, I have a fun little mini album that Samantha brought to the store a while back.  We have these really great mini albums by Cloud 9 here and she made one up for her mom.  The albums come with a gift box as well, so she decorated the box to match what she did with the board book mini album.  These mini albums come in kraft, white or black and they have 3 different sizes as well.SamAlbum2  One quick tip about these though...if you want to put your album back in the box after you're finished creating it, you'll want to use just pictures and some paper.  If you don't need the box, embellish it until you're little heart's content!  :)

The supplies Samantha used are:

Album - Cloud 9: 6x6 board book (kraft)
Paper - Bella Blvd: Camped Out - Fireside, Keeping Warm, Go Fish, Bits A Bella
Super Stud - Cyber Kiss, Bits A Bella
                            Plastino - Trellis
Stamps - Unity Stamps: Hodge Podge of Happiness
              Heidi Grace: We Are Family
Cornish Heritage Farms: Collage Elements I
Embellishments - Ribbon By the Yard
                          Button
Tools - Fiskars Upper Crest Border Punch
           Bazzill In-Stitch Template
           Corner Rounder

Nugget Tin Gift Idea

NuggetTinChristyIf you're looking for a quick and simply Father's Day gift idea, here's another one from Christy!

If you have a sweet tooth family member, this is a really easy one to create!  Start with one of our Nugget Tins and 12 Hershey's chocolate Nugget candy bars.  Wrap each Nugget bar with a strip of paper and use a good strong adhesive to keep them from popping open.  Next, wrap a few of the nuggets with twine and a button.  Snap the hinge closed on the tin, and take a piece of twine and wrap it around the box a few times and make a quick gift tag out of 2 circles.  Easy Peasy!

Christy chose the Bella Blvd Camped Out collection of papers for her Nugget Tin.

We're Nuts About You Father's Day Gift

FathersDayGiftChristyChristy created this adorable little gift pack for the store for a Father's Day gift idea.

She started out with one of our Clear Card Boxes and filled them with a few packages of peanuts.  She printed out some fake tickets from THIS SITE and tucked them behind this cool ribbon I found at the Fashion District in LA when we were there for CHA in January.

What a cute idea for Father's Day!

Cutting Vinyl with the Cricut

CricutVinylClass1Hi all!  Hope you are having a great week so far!

Today I have 2 projects that I made for our Cricut Vinyl class.  I taught this class a couple of months ago, and these are just two projects that I showed off.  These aren't the actual projects we completed in class, but just something to get your creative juices flowing!  :)

The project here on the left is one of those glass blocks you can get from Simply Said, Hobby Lobby, etc.  The nice thing about this one is that the hole is already drilled for you.  I don't have it filled yet as I'm waiting to give it away sometime.  I'll fill it with something baby-related for a shower gift or something.  Then, I'll take a nice thick ribbon and wrap it around the wides with a nice big bow on the top.

I created this with some special glass etching vinyl we have available by the foot at the store.  Instead of messing around with glass etching cream, I just cut this out of this vinyl.  I cut a square out of the vinyl for the glass size.  Then I put it on my Cricut mat.  I found the center of the square and cut out the image using the Center Point function key.  That way I knew my image was in the middle of the square.  I used the "negative" part of the image so the clear part would be the image that was actually cut out.

CricutVinylClass2 This next project is a little glass that I found on the shelves in Wal-Mart in the floral department.  I think it would be cute in the bathroom, holding toothbrushes.  This one uses the positive image of the cut.

Both of these cuts came from the Child's Year cartridge.

New Baby Frame

JBFrameChristyCheck out this gorgeous little baby frame that Christy created!  As if the frame isn't just the most adorable thing...checkout that little face of her new baby!

Christy started out with a plain old boring white frame.  She added some Jenni Bowlin papers where the picture *should* be and then added some of those acrylic frames that go on your fridge.  She did little mini layouts on those acrylic pieces using some more Jenni Bowlin papers, Maya Road chipboard keychain pieces, Jenni Bowlin buttons, Jenni Bowlin embellished butterfly stickers, a stick pin, and a bit of twine.  I love how she distressed the edges of her chipboard pieces after the paper was on for a nice, "worn" look.

Christy's recipe for her frame is:

Jenni Bowlin Homespun Papers
Jenni Bowlin Embellished Butterflies in Pink
Jenni Bowlin Buttons
Fiskars Effervescent Border Punch
Fiskars Scallop Sentiments Border Punch
Jenni Bowlin Stick pin
Basic Grey Precision Filing Tool Set
Maya Road Chipboard Keychain Sets Love

Fun Graduation Gift Box

GradGiftChristyDo you have many graduations you need to get a gift for?

Christy made a cute little gift box for a graduate, just in case you need to make a few quick little gifts!

She used one of our clear card boxes and filled it with some Smartie candies.  She found a piece of clipart and printed it on some cardstock and made a tag.  Next, she used a few ribbons and a button to tie it up, and enclosed a Gift Card on the front.

Now, how simple is that?

The Girl's Paperie Flower Bucket

TGPFlowerBucketChristy1OK, so there are a few items that when the DT brings them into the store, I get giddy...this is one of those items!

Isn't this just one of the most beautiful and happy little bucket o' flowers you've ever seen??

Christy made this absolutely beautiful little bucket using the new The Girl's Paperie Paper Girl papers.  She made the flowers using a tutorial from THIS BLOG.  It's using a Japanese paper folding technique and a bit of hot glue.

Here's a closeup of the little flowers to see them a bit better.  Now that I know how to make them (and they're insanely easy!) I can see little flower buckets all over my house.  I do NOT have a green thumb...actually I kill almost any plant I ever receive...and these are a perfect way to add some flowers to my house! Fun gift idea

ClothesPin1 A customer of mine here at the store, had purchased some supplies to make her daughter's piano teacher a Christmas gift.

This was such a cute idea...I had to get some picturesClothesPin2 of it, when she brought it in!

First, she started with the Creative Imaginations Ferdie Clothes Pin.  This unfinished wood clothespin is great to set on a desk (or piano in this case) with a favorite photo, or even layout to show off.

She used patterned papers from Piggy Tales Old King Cole collection

She cut out some of the elements and popped them out with some foam adhesive (check the NOTES and PIANO words) as well as the flowers and the treble cleff.

Even though Christmas may be over, I think this would be a great idea for a teacher, grandparent, or birthday!

One last look at the Spring Morning kit

Scrapbook_spread Isn't this a gorgeous layout??  One of our Guest Designers for March took some pictures of her beautiful daughter when she got this kit, just to design this layout for us!!

The Spring Morning kit has some beautiful papers from Making Memories Garden Party line, along with Imaginisce For Peep's Sake.  MemorylanetallHere, Tricia used the Garden Party papers and  added in the Prima Ribbon velvet flower trim.  She also used the chipboard alphabet included in the kit, and added a Lizzie Anne Designs stamp.

The next project is a tall card that Trudee designed.  It also uses the Making Memories Garden Party papers, felt flowers, button, and chipboard alphabet.

Taylorfriendcard The last card for today, was made by Taylor.  She used the Spring Morning kit also and added the Imaginisce flower stamp.  Instead of coloring in the flowers, she used the velvet brads that are included in the kit.

There are just a few kits left with these beautiful spring projects!!  You'll want to pick yours up soon, before theyr'e GONE!!  The SillyPea kit has already sold out this month, but we have a few of the pieces still available as add-ons.

Hope you all had a GREAT Easter!

Teacher's Organizer

Teacher1 We had our annual fundraiser for our church's Christian Education fund tonight.  I made two lunchbox organizers and they sold pretty well.  I made a card organizer that had 30 different cards in it that you've seen here on the blog.  This it the other organizer I made for teachers.

My sister-in-law is a teacher and she helped me figure out which types of tabs to put inside.  We thought it would be a cute idea for a teacher gift.  They could leave it in their classroom, and if they had to have a substitute teacher come in, there is a little organizer that has all of the important information for them.  Inside the tabs are decorated with Karen Foster, Jolee's Boutique and Paper Bliss dimensional stickers.  The papers are all Karen Foster papers.

The inside tabs are:
Important people (name of secretary, principal, etc)Teacher4_2
Lesson Plans (just some sample lesson plans for them to use if they're stuck)
Rules & Regulations (the normal class rules, etc)
Daily Schedule
Special Procedures (what to do for tornado or fire drills, terrorist threats, etc.)
Seating Chart
Class List
Specials Students (which students leave for special ed classes, or TAG classes, or whatever)
Discipline Plan
Special Duties (recess duties, lunchroom duties, etc)
