Our Design Team ROCKS!

I have a few ladies who design projects for the store both online and at the Brick & Mortar store.  I just adore working with them and they are just so fabulously talented!!  This week, two of our Design Team members have been recognized by 2 huge manufacturers!!

Our first announcement is:

Christy Seager (B&M store DT member) has made the KaiserCraft's Design Team for 2010-2011!!  Christy has been designing for our store for just about a year now and her projects are always so beautiful.  She has a knack of working with embellishments that I really admire.  I am so very proud of Christy and her accomplishment!!

Our second announcement is:

Erica Hettwer (online store DT member) is Making Memories' Guest Designer on their blog today.  Erica has created 2 layouts using their new Panorama collection showing you can use that collection for pictures other than vacation/travel!  Erica has been on our design team since February, and she will be joining us for another 6 months.  Congratulations Erica on being featured on Making Memories' blog!  I love the layout with your Grandma!

CHA Day 2 and 3

FiskarsPunchesBlog Well, it's Tuesday night, I'm absolutely BEAT!  I put in orders for some AWESOME new companies, and of course got a ton of stuff from our favorites!

Here is a picture of some of Fiskars' new punches!  Do you see the ones that have the NEW sticker on them?  We are getting the one on the top left with the Arabesque edges, and the lace one, and SCALLOPS with NO HOLES!!!!

Here is a new collection that will be shipping in March.  The Baby Safari collection by Little Yellow Bicycle. LYBBabySafari I just loved the little animals in this collection.  Here is a bit of the girl color combination, but we've got boy coming in as well!

I also fell in love with their travel line, but I think it is soooo perfect for tween/teen boys as well.

PinkPaislee Here is a bit of the new Pink Paislee collection.  They have some new embellishments as well.  Brads, fabric flowers...I just can't wait to get these in and start playing!  :)

We also ordered from a number of new companies this year.  Some are new, new.  And others are just new to us.  Companies like Our Craft Lounge (with adorable clear acrylic and rubber cling stamps), Unity Stamp company (with cling mount and thin mount rubber stamps), Jillibean Soup are new companies that we're so excited to show you.

I'll be heading back to Iowa tomorrow to start making room for all of the awesome new goodies that will be rolling out starting the next couple of weeks!

If you have a boy of any age, have wedding pictures to scrap, or plan on doing a vacation album any time soon...you should wait until you see our new purchases.  They are nothing short of awesome.

Day 1 in Anaheim

BGLimeRikey Hey girls!!  Just wanted to drop a quick note to you this morning with some pictures and thoughts of Day 1.

First up is Basic Grey.  These little bird guys are on one of their lines called Lime Rikey.  It's their newest version of Color Me Silly.  If you like bright and bold stripes, polka dots, etc this is for you!

They had 3 other lines as well, which obviously, all 4 lines will be making an appearance at the store.  They also started a new $1.99 stamp program (think the Michaels $1 stamp sizes) which has exclusive BG stamp images on them and they're limited edition stamps so once they're gone, they're gone!

CratePaperBlog Here is some Crate Paper with some awesome shaped papers.  Check out the diecut mushroom.  It's it cute!

FancyPantsKraft Next up on the left is some Fancy Pants Kraft papers.  Sooo pretty!  And they had some really cool frames for layouts, photos, etc.

CHA Pictures Day 2

OctoberafternoondetourWe begin our 2nd day of CHA pictures!

This is from October Afternoon.  They introduced 2 new paper lines along with some very cool chipboard albums, new clear stamp sets, rubons, and alphabets.  They introduced 2 new self-adhesive chipboard alphabets with cardstock alphabets to match the chipboard.Cratepaper

Crate Paper introduced 4 new lines of papers as well as matching ribbons and other embellishments.  These papers are a gorgeous mix of slightly distressed papers with beautiful patterns.  They have a texture to them and are a bit heavier weight for patterned paper, which is why we love them!

Bobunnyorganic Bo Bunny introduced a number of new paper lines as well!  They also brought out some new chipboard word books, and we will add those to our stock of word books that we already carry!  They also introduced clear stamps to their line, which we of course were more than happy to snatch up.  Their papers were shipping immediately after the show, with other items being released at a later date.  So, these should be in stock in the store soon!

Heidiswappcarefree_2Heidi Swapp had an exciting CHA booth this year!  She has designed her regular lines of embellishments that we are eager to stock, as well as 3 new paper lines.  We will be carrying the new paper lines Carefree and Runway as well as a spattering of her newest embellishments.

Mmanimalcrackers Making Memories did not disappoint us this show either.  They introduced 2 new paper lines and added to their very popular Noteworthy line.  This photo is showing off their new baby line called Animal Crackers.  This is the Jack selection, which is more fitting for baby boys.  The girls selection is beautiful as well, showing off some adorable hippos and giraffes in pinks and oranges.  They have some interesting features to some of their papers including flocking (note the letters on the middle right paper is flocked) and diecut (note the black looking stars in the top right paper as those are diecut and will show whatever is behind it).  They have matching embellishments such as felt pieces, brads, ribbons, epoxy pieces, cardstock stickers and the new Slice machine has it's own cartridge with matching animals to make your own diecuts.  The Noteworthy additions include 2 new color families in brighter tones.  However, they are just as gorgeous as the first release, and it too has a Slice card to be able to cut out matching diecuts.  The last line introduced was the Traveler line, very fitting for anyone wanting to show off some vacation photos.

Check back again tomorrow for some more pictures as well as a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!  You won't want to miss it!

CHA Pictures Day 1

Chabanner Are you ready for some CHA pictures??  Today's pictures include some of the popular "big name" companies, along with some smaller companies, and even a few new companies!

I'll give you a bit of a preview today of the sort of companies that I will be stocking in my store, and in the next couple of days, you'll see some closeups of some product lines that I have on order already!  Some companies were shipping as soon as they got back from CHA, while others will be spreading out release dates from now until July.  Keep watching the blog for more details on when you can expect to see all these scrappy goodies in the store!

Basic Grey....what can I begin to say about Basic Grey's 5 new lines?   They are everything we'vSultrypreviewe come to expect from BG and more!  The preview here is for the Sultry line.  We have some collection packs on order and we'll split them so you can either buy the whole collection, or individual papers from the collection.  We have also ordered some of the embellishments such as brads, buttons, and glazed brads to match too!  Basic Grey also released 4 other collections called:

Archaic - lots of brown and blues in this line with some funky looking dinosaurs.  Perfect for outdoor or boy pictures!

Cupcake - very bright and as it's name suggests, is perfect for children and birthday parties.

Sugared - a beautiful line sure to please most scrapbookers.

Boxer - a very masculine line with loads of blue and red in the collection.Chatterboxeclectique_2

Chatterbox has made a comeback with some new papers, embellishments, stickers, clear stamps, and more!  There are 3 new paper lines and they have also introduced the artsy-licious line which comes in a variety of colors.  They have some LUCIOUS papers with foiling, flocking, and sparkle, available in all colors.  They also have ribbon, brads and other embellishments to match the papers.  We have all been waiting for Chatterbox to deliver some new collections, and this one is not disappointing!  We have a number of new arrivals on their way from Chatterbox including the complete artsy-licious lines as well as the line shown here called Eclectique.  We also have Happy Day and Botanico on it's way too!

Pinkpaislee_2 Pink Paislee is a new company on the scrapbooking block.  They have 2 paper lines as well as some clear stamp sets.  We have ordered the entire paper lines along with some of their clear stamps and clear overlays.  This company had a very clever booth in the new vendors area!  They were so much fun to talk to, and we are very excited about carrying their lines in our store.

We actually ordered these lines before the CHA show, so we expect these goodies to be in the store and available for purchase very soon!

Tinkeringinkpreview Tinkering Ink is not necessarily a new company, but it is new to the store here at A Walk Down Memory Lane.  We have picked up a few of their new papers as well as their innovative chipboard/acrylic mini albums.  These clever mini albums combine what we love best about chipboard and acrylic, but because they are put together, you needn't be afraid of the acrylic aspect of the mini album anymore!  One of the Tinkering Ink Design Team Members lives in my home town, and I'm hoping to get some sample layouts and ideas from her for the store.

I know I sometimes find their papers a bit intimidating, but I'm hoping Betsy will show us how to take these artsy paper lines and make gorgeous layouts with them!

Glitzfrosting  The last picture of today's preview is of some beautiful Glitz Designs frosting.  We already stock 2 of their frosting lines, the square lines and the arrows.  They have added circular gems to their frosting line, as well as a number of different shapes and sizes of bling shapes and words.  They also have come out with a few new paper lines and roller stamps that look like a lot of fun to use, so look for these new additions to the store soon!
