Design Team Member Christy posted a layout on her blog the other day in response to a sketch challenge over at Imaginisce's blog. Guess what?? They posted today that she won the sketch contest and $75 in free Imaginisce goodies!!

March isn't just A Walk Down Memory Lane's anniversary...it's also the anniversary of Willow Traders. WT is a message board for anyone who loves scrapbook kits.
Today, is AWDML's day to celebrate over at WT so our Design Team has put together some amazing challenges and games to play with the Willows.

Here is the first challenge for you! <---see over there? That is a sketch that Lucy drew up. Use this sketch to inspire your next layout. Post your layout to any online gallery or blog, and post a link in the comments section directly to your post (please don't just post a link to your blog).
We are offering a $20 gift certificate to the winner who will be drawn from all of our participants...soooo, c'mon let's get sketchy!
For those of you who shop at our physical storefront, you should have gotten an email with information about this month's sketch contest.
We are starting a new contest at the store each month, and this month's challenge is to use this sketch.
We have extended the due-date to Saturday, March 21. The store closes at noon on Saturdays, so please have your layout to us by then. Please have your layout labeled, so we can return your layout to you after the contest is over.
How does it work?
Well, basically, you take this sketch, which we found at the Page Maps website. If you aren't familiar with Page Maps...head on over there! We carry their idea book, but she's constantly adding new sketches to her site every month!
Anyway, you start your layout similar to the sketch. Now, your layout does NOT have to be exactly like the layout, however we should be able to see some resemblance to the sketch. But, feel free to change it! Maybe you don't have the Artesian shaped paper, use a scallop circle, a regular circle, whatever! Maybe you don't have photos the "right size" for the layout. That's fine! Combine the two smaller photos into 1 larger photo. Add a photo instead of the flower embellishment. Don't want a flower? No problem! Use a star, another photo, a paisley, a flourish, whatever suits your fancy and your page!
After you are finished, please bring in your labeled layout, and we'll display all of our entrants in the entryway of the store in our cool white 12x12 frames. :) Customers that come in, will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite.
If your layout is chosen, you will earn a $10 gift card to the store!!
To the right is a sample layout that I did using the sketch as my basis point. As you can see, I have changed it up a bit. :) I rotated the sketch 90 degrees so that the KI Memories Sheer Delights is coming from the bottom. I changed the direction of the large photo to be portrait instead of landscape and I moved my smaller photos around a bit as well. I moved my large flower embellishment to the right side of the page and added a few other embellishments.

I'm in a bit of a funk this week...I'm looking for some new sketch sites for cards and layouts. As you can see, I have some on the left side of my blog, and they're great, but I'm looking for some new ones.
So..........

So, I was doing a bit of "lurking" around 2Peas tonight and saw someone ask about their favorite sketch sites. Well, being a sketch junkie myself, I happily clicked on the first link to find the motherload of all sketch sites! LOL This one is so cool...it actually has a list of all kinds of sketch sites from one page!
Some of them I've seen before, but there was a plethora of new sites to check out!

Here is a sketch for you to play with. It shows a lot of different patterned papers used together for one page which is kinda fun.
You could very easily change it around a bit to add a few more pictures to the page if you wanted. Or leave it as is for a one photo layout.
I haven't posted a sketch for a while, so I thought today would be a good day for a sketch!
I like this one because it combines some strips of patterned paper along with some cardstock. It contains multiple photos too. Add a few embellishments and a title and you're set!

This one is kinda fun with a few different patterned papers and a center grouping of 3 photos. The yellow star could be replaced with a flower, or any other big embellishment.
