Fat Little Santa

Santa I'm getting into the Christmas spirit a little earlier each year the way it seems.  Maybe it's because I'm planning a few Holiday gifts and card classes or maybe I just like how much nicer everyone is around the holidays.  I don't know...

I thought I'd show you a cute little card I made for a Christmas card class I taught.  He looks kinda detailed but really is quite easy to make.  I saw this idea a few different places on the web, and a store I frequent had this as a sample as well so I thought I'd make one.

First I cut the Karen Foster paper into card sizes.  Then I cut the red KF paper using my EK Success Curvy Cutter.  I took a piece of black cardstock and trimmed it for his belt.  I punched a square out of cardstock with the smallest SU! square punch first (for the inside of the buckle) and then punched the larger square.

His face is made with a Slide Mount.  I cut a piece of flesh colored cardstock for behind the slide mount.  I made the face using the smallest SU! circle punch.  2 out of white for the eyes, and the last one out of flesh for the nose.  I popped the nose up on a cut piece of foam dots.  I took a little chalk and gave him his rosy cheeks, and cut some teardrop shaped cardstock for his mustache.  The rubon is from Making Memories.

If you're doing these production style, it really goes quickly, and you'll impress all your friends with your handmade card!
