It's Begining to Look a Lot Like Christmas In the Store

MME Christmas I love Christmas decorations! On Friday, we decorated the house inside and out. Our Main Street downtown has it's lights up on the poles, and to my joy AWDML is decorated for the season, too! The store window is twinkling with lights, ornaments, and the top items you'll want to put on your Christmas list. Inside the store has lots of great layout ideas, holiday papers, handmade gift ideas, Christmas card ideas, and so much more. Today's layout also reflects my love of holiday decorating. I just couldn't help using those great chipboard ornaments from My Mind's Eye's I Believe collection to decorate my page.

Merry Christmas supply list
Paper: My Mind’s Eye I Believe (Thin Stripes, Trees, Poinsettia)
Accessories: My Mind’s Eye I Believe Decorative Ribbon, My Mind’s Eye I Believe Decorative Brads, My Mind’s Eye I Believe Glittered Chipboard Elements.

Let's Talk Turkey

If you're like me, you spend a lot of time cooking, eating, and eating a little more from Thanksgiving to the New Year. Right now AWDML is carrying some amazing lines and accessories that can help you scrap your kitchen moments, wrap food gifts, and make recipe books. Here are a few of my favorites.

I'm in love with Little Yellow Bicycle's new Savor Line. The colors are gorgeous and the prints on the papers make you feel like you're stepping into your grandmother's kitchen. There are matching chipboard, fabric, canvas, and button stickers. There's even an envelope album kit that makes creating a recipe album a breeze.

If you want to use the words stinkin' and cute together check out Bon Appetite from Doodlebug. The accessories for this line are so fun and creative that you're going to want them all. Blog Photos6

Finally, if you're looking for something with more of a vintage feel, you may want to check out October Afternoon's Modern Homemaker. The patterns on the papers feel like they were pulled right of an apron. Happy creating! OAMHChipStickers

Giving Thanks

I hope you are all having a safe and happy Thanksgiving. We at A Walk Down Memory Lane are truly thankful for all of you who read the blog, chat with us on Facebook, share your creations with us in the gallery, and visit us in person at the store, and shop with us on-line.

I think scrapbooking makes me even more aware of the things I am thankful for. I get to experience them 1st hand, then see them again when I scrap them, and remember them every time I page through an album. Today I thought I'd share some layouts from the in store design team. It's amazing how you can see the love and thankfulness in each page.

P9190119 The first layout is by Lisa. I love how the bright colors of the Fancy Pants About a Girl paper really seem to make the black and white photo of Lisa's daughter pop. Who wouldn't be thankful for this beautiful, bright, and spunky girl!?!

P9190121 The second layout is by Amy. I'm always amazed by Amy's ability to capture personality in her photos and layouts. Paper and accessories from Little Yellow Bicycle's Laundry Line add to the sweet feel of this photo.

Thankful for you Finally, is a layout by me, Samantha. Truthfully, I'm just thankful that I remembered to hand the camera to my husband. I'm thankful that I'm actually in a photo with my boys, who are 2 of my biggest blessings. To scrap this momentous occasion, I chose Bo Bunny's Peacock Lane.

CHA Memories

P9040138 Those of you that follow AWDML on Facebook probably saw Lisa's announcement a few weeks ago about her booking her trip for winter CHA in January. While I'm super jealous (wink) I'm also really excited to see what new goodies she brings back for the store.

While we can't all go with Lisa to CHA, we can be there in spirit. We can ooh and ahh over the new releases, and we can enjoy this great page from a recent CHA. If you want to re-create this beautiful layout for yourself, you'll need some October Afternoon Thrift Shop paper, some Studio Calico Wood Veneer Alpha Stickers, a Martha Stewart Edge Loop Punch, and a Fiskars Treading Water Border Punch.

Celebrating a Little Differently

KFKitLetsParty My best friend's first baby turns the big 1 the day after Thanksgiving. I know her well, and I know her family well, and I know that the kid is going to get so many presents, she's going to have to spend days figuring out where to put everything. I wanted to get Owen something to celebrate the big day, but I also wanted to do something a bit different. So, I decided to send a few cars for Owen, but I also picked up the Karen Foster Let's Party Scrapbook Kit, because let's face it, the only way Owen is going to remember his momentous 1st birthday is by looking at the pictures. I'm also sending along some matching ribbon, buttons, and brads so the pages can be completed quickly and easily. My friend loves to scrapbook, but has found little time for it since Owen was born. I'm hoping this will help stir her creativity, and help get those amazing memories down on paper. So, next time you're a bit stuck for what to get someone, why not give them the gift of creativity, too?

This card just makes me smile. It's so bright and cheerful. I love how Lisa used her amazing Copic coloring skills to color in this sweet little girl from Magnolia. Pairing her with Sweet Summertime from Echo Park just puts it over the top.  I'm a bit of a punch-a-holic, so I also have to mention that the fun punched border is Fiskars' Effervescence border punch. Have a great weekend!
