Sending Warm Thoughts with October Afternoon

SendingWarmThoughtsSamWe've entered June (I know... already!!) and with a new month comes a new Featured Manufacturer.  This month we have 2 really great companies to feature.  This card that Samantha created has elements from both companies!!

The paper is from October Afternoon.  I LOVE how she used 3 different sized punches, a bit of ink, and some pop dots to make her cool and modern tree!  Plus, she used papers from different collections for the base of the card.

And don't you just love the little bench.  It looks like an inviting park bench just waiting to be sat upon while watching the kids in the park.  That little bench is a stamp from CC Designs.  I have used this bench a few times myself when creating a little scene with the CC Designs Swiss Pixies and Sugarplum characters.

Jenni Bowlin is one of May's Featured Manufacturers

JBLayoutSam1Good Monday morning all!  I trust that you had a fantastic weekend, spending time with the fam and enjoying the spring weather!  I'm hoping to finally get my little flower bed in front of my house planted this week.  I didn't get to plant any flowers last year, because of my hysterectomy and stroke so I'm really looking forward to planting a little bit of flowers again!

I wanted to show off one of the layouts that Samantha brought to the store this month to highlight Jenni Bowlin products!  Doesn't she look so cute...all pregnant and all?!

Samantha's recipe for this layout is:

Jenni Bowlin Studios Victoria Label, Clover Vine
Jenni Bowlin Black Banner Stickers
Pink Paislee Bayberry Cottage Ribbon Pleats
My Mind's Eye Lush Brads Red
Kaisercraft Black Pearls and Red Rhinestones
Fiskars Scallop Edge Border Punch

February's Featured Manufacturers

Happy Tuesday morning all!  The first week of February has totally escaped me, and I haven't posted about our February featured manufacturers!  Bad blogger!

FebFancyPantsLayoutKim In February, we have 2 great companies to feature.  The first up is Fancy Pants.  Fancy Pants Designs has been around a while, and they are consistently coming up with some great and unique papers.  In this layout, DT Member Kim used their Arctic Chill papers and mixed in some Imaginisce i-Top brad punches, Prima flowers, October Afternoon label stickers, and the Martha Stewart Loops edge punch.

Remember, everything from Fancy Pants is AT LEAST 25% off the entire month of February.

The second company is Hero Arts stamps.  Hero Arts has been in the stamping business for a long time and makes wood-mounted rubber stamps, clear acrylic stamps, and has recently came out with cling-mounted rubber stamps.  We carry a number of their acrylic stamps, and have also picked up their Hero Arts Hues line with matching cardstock, folded cards, and envelopes along with some beautiful inks.

And of course, everything from Hero Arts is 25% off ALL MONTH of February.

January's Featured Manufacturers

CHFMyDeerWelcome to 2010!  It's been a while for a new post here on the blog...and I've been creating some new cards, layouts, etc for you so I'm hoping to be able to blog a little bit more regularly now.  Well, at least that's one of my goals!

Today I want to talk a little bit about January's TWO featured manufacturers!  Starting with January 2010's manufacturers, you'll have 2 companies to choose from, PLUS instead of last year's 15% off...you'll get 25% off on all goodies from both of these companies!!

The first company that we are featuring this month is SEI.  SEI has been around the scrapbook industry for quite a while now.  They are consistently coming up with beautiful collections, and we have been carrying their company's products for a few years now.

The second company that we are featuring is Cornish Heritage Farms.  This is a newer company to us, as we've just been carrying them since 2009.  They have a fabulous collection of cling-mounted rubber stamps that we carry. The above card was created using a Cornish Heritage Farms stamp set!  :)

The rest of the details about the card...I started with an olive green card base, and then I ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  Doesn't look embossed you say??  Well...that's 'cuz it's not!  :)  I inked up the folder's dots and ran it through my Cuttlebug, and it just inked the little dots instead.  Next, I took a bit of the Bella Boulevard Honey I'm Home papers and ripped a little bit off the edge.  Next I took my Cuttlebug again, and cut out some Bazzill Swiss Dot embossed paper with the Nestabilities die.  I actually took 2 different dies from Nestabilites and layered them with some foam tape.  I used a bit of silk ribbon (available by the yard at the physical store) and I stamped my deer in Memento Rich Cocoa ink on my favorite cardstock for Copics.  Next, I took my Copic markers and colored him in.  I cut around my deer, and mounted him on the labels.  Last, I stamped the sentiment on the embossed dot cardstock again, and rounded two of the corners.

Couple of things today

First off...I am going in for a heart repair this morning. They figured out the reason I had a stroke last spring, was because I have a hole in my heart, in the upper chambers, between the right and left side.

So, this morning (at the crack of dawn no less) I am going in to have it fixed. There is a really cool procedure they can do now, where they just go up a vein in your groin and thread the little piece into my heart to fix it. It's an overnight thing, so I will be out of the store on Monday and Tuesday this week. One of my PT employees will be working Monday and Wednesday for me, and my mom will be covering the store on Tuesday. I hope to be back by Thursday the 19th.

Secondly...Rebecca from Pink Paislee is joining our CHAT ROOM tonight for a chat.  Pink Paislee is our featured manufacturer and Rebecca is going to spend a little time with us tonight starting at 9PM Eastern Time.

Third...Remember, Pink Paislee is our featured manufacturer this month,  so you can get 15% off ALL Pink Paislee products.  This includes their newest releases, Amber Road and Mistletoe & Co.

Last...our online store newsletter went out over the weekend.  If you missed the newsletter, you can see the Archive of it here.

ENJOY!

Hello stranger!

Wow...a few weeks without a blog post, makes me a REALLY BAD poster huh?!

We have had a few busy weeks in August, getting used to the new store, getting the classroom all prepped and ready for classes, starting in September, training two new part-time employees, and we snuck off to Yankton to camp for the week.

Add to that the first days of school, and it's been CRAZY around here!  :)  But, I promise not to let hte blog get so dusty next time!  We've got LOTS of fun things planned for the store, both online and here at the Brick & Mortar store all month, so let's get right down to it, OK?

LittleYellowBicycle We are featuring a new manufacturer starting today...Little Yellow Bicycle is relatively new in the scrapbook world, but it has taken the hearts of scrapbookers worldwide!  With it's adorable Baby Safari lines, their Delightful collection, the colorful Zinnia collection, and their Traveler collection is awesome!  Even if you haven't traveled this summer, it is GREAT for those 'tween to teenage boys!

We are scheduling classes here at the B&M like crazy too!

September 2 - Cricut 101 class at 6PM.  For $25 (or free if you purchase your Cricut machine from us) you'll get a 3-4 hour class with Betsy Veldman.  She is a Provo Craft Design team member, and knows the ins and outs of your machine.  You'll make 2 projects.

September 10-12 is our annual fall City-Wide Garage Sales.  We'll be having a garage sale here at the store as well.  In our classroom, you'll find all kinds of tools, papers, embellishments, etc. from fellow scrapbookers who outgrew these items.

September 16 - Stamping class at 5:30.  For $10 you'll make 3 Sympathy cards, while learning how to use acrylic or cling mounted rubber stamps.  You'll also get a chance to play with the BRAND NEW i-Top tool from Imaginisce!!

September 18 - Workshop from 6-midnight.  For $10 you can come crop the night away with your friends in our classroom!

Sepember 21 - Stamping class at 2pm.  For $10 you'll make 3 Sympathy cards, while learning how to use acrylic or cling mounted rubber stamps.  You'll also get a chance to play with the BRAND NEW i-Top tool from Imaginisce!!

September 21 - Basic Grey layout class at 6pm.  For $20 you'll make a 2 page layout, and have extras for at least 2 cards.  We'll learn how to combine various patterned papers as well as how to view a layout and turn it into a card.

September 23 - Bring in your card swap cards!  For September, the theme for your cards is Fall or Halloween cards.  Bring in 5 cards along with matching envelopes, that are all the same.  On the 23rd, we will swap out the cards and you can pick up your swapped out cards.  You'll get 5 totally different cards back!

September 26 - Workshop from 5-11.  For $10 you can come crop the night away with your friends in our classroom!

Also, during the week of September 19-26 is our We've MOVED Celebration!  On the Saturdays, we'll have our Open House with time for you to come on over and see our new location, new classroom/workshop area, and do some make & takes.  Every day that week, will have another make & take project, and we'll also feature something on sale every day!
