It's Begining to Look a Lot Like Christmas In the Store

MME Christmas I love Christmas decorations! On Friday, we decorated the house inside and out. Our Main Street downtown has it's lights up on the poles, and to my joy AWDML is decorated for the season, too! The store window is twinkling with lights, ornaments, and the top items you'll want to put on your Christmas list. Inside the store has lots of great layout ideas, holiday papers, handmade gift ideas, Christmas card ideas, and so much more. Today's layout also reflects my love of holiday decorating. I just couldn't help using those great chipboard ornaments from My Mind's Eye's I Believe collection to decorate my page.

Giving Thanks

I hope you are all having a safe and happy Thanksgiving. We at A Walk Down Memory Lane are truly thankful for all of you who read the blog, chat with us on Facebook, share your creations with us in the gallery, and visit us in person at the store, and shop with us on-line.

I think scrapbooking makes me even more aware of the things I am thankful for. I get to experience them 1st hand, then see them again when I scrap them, and remember them every time I page through an album. Today I thought I'd share some layouts from the in store design team. It's amazing how you can see the love and thankfulness in each page.

P9190119 The first layout is by Lisa. I love how the bright colors of the Fancy Pants About a Girl paper really seem to make the black and white photo of Lisa's daughter pop. Who wouldn't be thankful for this beautiful, bright, and spunky girl!?!

P9190121 The second layout is by Amy. I'm always amazed by Amy's ability to capture personality in her photos and layouts. Paper and accessories from Little Yellow Bicycle's Laundry Line add to the sweet feel of this photo.

Thankful for you Finally, is a layout by me, Samantha. Truthfully, I'm just thankful that I remembered to hand the camera to my husband. I'm thankful that I'm actually in a photo with my boys, who are 2 of my biggest blessings. To scrap this momentous occasion, I chose Bo Bunny's Peacock Lane.

CHA Memories

P9040138 Those of you that follow AWDML on Facebook probably saw Lisa's announcement a few weeks ago about her booking her trip for winter CHA in January. While I'm super jealous (wink) I'm also really excited to see what new goodies she brings back for the store.

While we can't all go with Lisa to CHA, we can be there in spirit. We can ooh and ahh over the new releases, and we can enjoy this great page from a recent CHA. If you want to re-create this beautiful layout for yourself, you'll need some October Afternoon Thrift Shop paper, some Studio Calico Wood Veneer Alpha Stickers, a Martha Stewart Edge Loop Punch, and a Fiskars Treading Water Border Punch.

Did you know - my favorite part

Road to Roma  Do you know what my favorite thing about shopping at A Walk Down Memory Lane is? Finding new stuff almost every time I go in! I love wandering through the store and seeing what I haven't seen before. If you're not close to the Brick and Mortar store, you can get this same experience through clicking on the "New Products" tab in the store. For example, right now you can find Basic Grey's Jovial and Wander, goodies from Basic Grey, and so much more in the new section.

Today's layouts by Samantha show just a little bit of the fun you can have with the new stuff from Basic Grey's Wander collection. Have fun cheking out what's new, and have even more fun playing with it!

In Store - Winter Fun?

PB050079   It snowed here on Saturday morning and Sunday morning. I know it wasn't the first snow of the season, and I know it melted as quickly as it came down, but it still got me thinking about the cold white stuff. I think snow is pretty, and it can be fun, but mostly it means I'm going to spend the next 5 months bundled up and asking my kids where they left their hats and gloves. My husband has a slightly different outlook. He's a snowmobiler, so he can't wait for more. My kids also love watching it come down and playing in it when it's not too windy. Whether you love it, hate it, or are somewhere in between, you have to admit, the white stuff has great possibilities for fun layouts.

Friday Fun - Happy Together

Today I'm taking time to highlight one of my favorite lines from Fancy Pants called Happy Together. The first time I saw this paper, I knew it would be perfect for scrapping my photos from Pisa. I have been slowly working on scrapping all 600+ photos from a trip to Italy last year. At first the task seemed daunting, but now I'm having fun finding just the right papers to scrap the different parts of the trip. One of the things that made this task seem smaller too, was the suggestion from Lisa that I use divided page protectors as well. I am doing an album that mixes traditional pages (like the first and fourth layouts show here) with divided photo sleeves (like the second and third pages shown here). They've really helped me tackle my big project.  You can check out all of the papers and accessories from Happy Together in the store here, you can also check out the different divided page protectors by clicking here. You can find them for post bound and ring albums, and they come from a few different manufacturers as well.

In Store - Coredinations

I know I've sung the praises of Core'dinations card stock before, but I've got some great projects today that help show off this great paper. In case you're not familiar with Core'dinations, it is card stock that has a color core so you can rip, sand, and tear it to reveal the core color. A Walk Down Memory Lane carries it in single sheets, and in packs. There are even packs that have texture embossed on them, so all you have to do is sand. Here are a few great ideas for Core'dinations.

First up is a fun layout by Lisa. She embossed and sanded Core'dinations to create the background for this layout. P9040113
I love the butterfly background on this next layout. It comes pre-embossed from Core'dinations and Jenni Bowlin Studios. All Amy had to do was sand to reveal the core color. P9190113

Finally, I haven't forgotten the card makers of the world. Here's a little black, white, and red card. Again, I embossed my Core'dinations card stock and sanded it to make the red pop. Coredinations Card

I hope this gets your Core'dinations creativity rolling.
