Fan Friday!

47770_1333948042782_1653504631_794894_442454_n   Today's Fan Friday project comes to us from Facebook Fan Emily. Her project grabbed my attention for a few reasons. First off, it's just darn cute. Can you ever go wrong with pink and brown? I also have a thing forframes; they make great gifts, add a personal touch to your home, and are fun to make. Finally, I really love how Emily used those pretty Prima flowers. I've put brads in the centers of my Primas before, but I've never tried putting little Primas in the center of a larger one. I can't wait to try this pretty technique. Thanks, Emily, for sharing this fun project with us!

 I hope you all have a very crafty weekend. I'll see you Monday to chat a little about this month's featured manufacturers: Graphic 45 and Stampendous.

Monday Memer Highlights

Summer_bliss Another Monday is upon us, and I haven't done a Member Highlight for a few weeks.

I've been strolling through the gallery this morning and have seen some AWESOME work uploaded!  If you haven't been to the gallery lately, you should check it out 'cuz the girls are ROCKIN' the place!

The layout to the left is by mommysews and was inspired by our August sketch challenge on the message board.  This layout uses papers from Little Yellow Bicycle, Prima Say it in Crystals, Versamark Ink, along with some other supplies from her tool chest.  Foolinaround_edited1

This next layout was uploaded by audreykit.  I love the way everything is put at a little bit of an angle to add to the playfulness of the title "foolin' around".  Did you notice the cool little picture booth type strip of photos along the side?  That's a GREAT way to add a lot of pictures to a layout without overwhelming the page.  She used Basic Grey Archaic papers and cardstock alphabet stickers, and Bazzill cardstock.

If you are looking for some inspiration, you should check out the Challenges section of our message board!  Each month, the Design team comes up with challenges for you.  They can range from a recipe, to a sketch, an ad challenge, a lyric challenge and much more!  PLUS, anyone that uploads a layout to the challenge section in the gallery and posts their layout to the message board, is entered into a drawing for a little prize from the store!  The July challenge winner won a brand-spankin' new set of American Crafts Puffy Thicker Sticker elements!!  Our challenges run from the 15th to the 14th so you have a full month to complete the challenges.  Our August challenges were just uploaded on the 15th so you have plenty of time to get a layout complete!  See you on the boards!

Monday Member Highlights

Wonder5 I haven't done a Monday member feature in a while...so, here are some beautiful layouts I found while strolling through the gallery this morning!

LadybugChristine uploaded this funky layout for our Make Me a Super Scrapper contest that ended on Saturday.  Week 6's challenge was to use 90% SEI products on your layout.  She used the Doodley Doo Girl and Cupid's Candy Shoppe papers from SEI.  She bought the Week 6 kit from the store at A Walk Down Memory Lane with coordinating embellishments and papers for the contest.

I love the cutout circles she used, as well as all of the cute little embellishments she cut from the papers.

2802060340085791827s425x425q85 Liza scraps has been wowing us each week with her beautiful creations during the contest as well.  This layout showcases her aunt and uncle and celebrating their 46 years together.  She used a bunch of different products on this layout, and you can find a complete list HERE.

The MMASS contest has come to a close, but we still have voting open for week 6.  So, if you haven't checked out the layouts that the girls have uploaded to the gallery, head on over HERE to find your favorite.  Then you can vote for your favorite layout by PMing Lucy with your vote.

All of the girls did an AWESOME job on their layouts.  The voting is extremely close so far, and I'm sure they would all appreciate a vote by our blog readers.

Cute_toes One last layout that caught my eye this morning was by our DT member Kelly.

She used the new Sassafras Lass Sunshine Lollipop papers, American Crafts thicker stickers, and a Treading Water punch by Fiskars (which is still on backorder, so we hope to have them back in stock SOON!)

Some of our CHA orders arrived while we were away on vacation last week, so after orders have been filled, packed and shipped off we will start adding new goodies to the store.

Things we got in are the new Ribbon Ring starter sets and refills, American Crafts Everyday and Travel papers along with new Thicker stickers, Details, etc.  We also got in some Pebbles rubons and stickers that work GREAT for cards.  For those that are looking for a cheaper alternative to the ATG gun, we also got in the Glue Glider Max and permanent refills.  We have the smaller gun on order, and should be getting them in within the next 4-6 weeks we hope.  Oh, and we got some idea books from Creating Keepsakes as well including Ali Edward's Designers Eye books, Life Artist, Becky Higgins sketches and My Creative Companion books and a few others.

Birthday Card

Happybdaycard I'm sorry readers...I missed the Monday Member post.  I promise I had a really good reason for not posting though!!!  I was really busy all day yesterday uploading new goodies to the store!!  At last count, I was over 250 new products in the store including Cricut cartridges, Prima, Sassafras Lass, American Crafts thicker stickers and rubons, Heidi Swapp embellishments, Hero Arts clear stamps, Cosmo Cricket Blackboard shapes, new Monogram stamping kits, Doodlebug Crushed Velvet Cardstock, Hambly overlays and papers, Pebbles I'Kandee chalks, and so much more!

In order to see all of the new products, you just need to head over to the store, and scroll down under the category box and click on NEW PRODUCTS.  That will show you everything that was added to the store within the past 30 days.  Easy huh?

OK, now for today's member I chose this bright Happy birthday card from Kelly.  She used Fancy Pants papers, Bo Bunny Brads, a Martha Stewart label, Wordsmith rubons and Queen&Co flowers.  I love it 'cuz it's so bright and happy.  Very appropriate for a birthday card!

Monday Member Highlight

Smile It's another Monday...so that means 2 GREAT things for you, readers!!

First off is the Monday Member Highlight section of my blog.  Every Monday I highlight a member or two who has uploaded some BEAUTIFUL layouts, cards or projects to the GALLERY.  Your work can be highlighted here too if you upload your paper craft projects and use products available at the STORE at A Walk Down Memory Lane.

Second is the Monday class/tutorial post over at the FREE ONLINE CLASS BLOG that we started last week.  You can see a new class each and every Monday to help you do a home decor project, or a technique on a card, or lots of other things are in store!  Check it out!

For today's Monday Member highlight layout, I chose this one  by Amy, that was uploaded last week.  I love this layout.  I love the composition, the photo, and the little snippets of Making Memories new Noteworthy and Animal Crackers lines along with some Little Yellow Bicycle background pattern paper.  Do you see how GREAT they coordinate together??  Even though they are completely different lines, they work so great together.

NSD Classes and Challenges Review

Frenchfryholder We had a great National Scrapbook Day crop at The Scrapbook Site!  We had a lot of members play along with us doing challenges, playing games, and learning new tips and tricks for their cards and scrapbooks!  Here are a few samples of the work our members posted over the weekend.

gale posted this little French Fry container on the left, that she learned how to make during the NSD crop.  DT member Lucy posted this class on the bulletin board during the NSD crop, and we had a bunch of variations on the unique little gift box!French_fry

LadybugChristine made this variation of the same class.

Other classes that were taught at the board were:

*  A clear cover mini album
*  Exploding box album
*  Altered Checkbook cover
*  Altered Canvas frame
*  Tea Bag Folding

These classes and challenges will be kept up on the board, but you will also be able to find them online soon, on our online class and tutorial blog.  We are working on a new blog where you can get a new class or tutorial every week! We have our first class posted HERE and will update each week!

Just a little update about the tornado damage...there were a few farms that had buildings destroyed, windows blown out in houses, and LOTS and LOTS of stories from people!  LOL  Everyone at church on Sunday morning was chattering away about where they were, what they saw, and other stories they heard.  One man from our church was out in the fields when he noticed the cattle acting strange.  He looked around and thought, "oh boy, that's a tornado!"  So, he ran to a little low spot in the field next to a fence, and covered his head.  He said, "I'm ready, Lord".  But, the Lord didn't take him that day.  He said the tornado passed extremely close to him, and he even had a pack of cigarettes sucked out of his pockets when it passed by.  CRAZY huh?  They categorized this tornado as an EF2 at it's worst, but most of the time it was an EF1.  It was on the ground for 13 miles and 25 minutes.  I always said I wanted to see a tornado up close, when I knew no one was getting hurt.  Well, I got my wish.  Now, I hope to NEVER see one again!

Monday means Member Highlights

Momandali0001_2 Good Monday morning!  I have been stalking the gallery over at The Scrapbook Site and couldn't help but pull out some of the layouts that the fabulous members are posting over there!

Molly created this layout using items from the Dream_big440Tea Party kit.  I love how simple the layout is, but how it highlights a picture of Molly and her daughter.

The layout on the right is by Stacey.  This one uses products by Pink Paislee, Making Memories, American Crafts Thickers, Hambly, and My Mind's Eye. I love the use of the Pink Paislee scallop diecut paper and how she layered all of her embellishments on the corner of the photo.  I really love all of the journaling on the page!  The journaling is a little message from a Francinesheshootsmom to a daughter about how she wishes her daughter will someday Dream Big!

This is a layout by Francine.  She is trying to get the perfect photo, and how she loves photography.

Francine used the gorgeous Making Memories 5th Avenue diecut paper, Pink Paislee diecut paper, American Crafts Thickers, and Basic Grey rubons.

You can be featured on our Monday Member posts, by uploading your layouts to the gallery at The Scrapbook Site, using products available at A Walk Down Memory Lane!
