A New Way to Shop!

NewWayToShopHappy Wednesday everyone!!  I hope you had a GREAT Memorial Day weekend!  We had such great weather over most of the weekend and enjoyed some time spent outdoors.  We went with some friends to our "local" go-kart racing spot and had some fun racing and playing miniature golf with the kids.  We had 2 beautiful nights where we sat around the campfire with friends and their kids.  We had a great weekend!

So...for today, I have a quick post to show you what I've been working on at the store!  I have re-arranged the store a bit to hopefully make shopping a bit more easy for you!  Especially if you like shopping for matchy-matchy embellishments and papers for your projects.

Check out the image to the left, and when you look at the Categories, you have a few choices to start with.  You can shop by Category or Shop by Collection.  When you Shop by Category, you'll find everything in it's proper place.  So, if you are looking for flowers, brads, or something like that and don't care what collection it is...you can shop by Category.

IF you are looking for a specific collection with all it's papers and the coordinating embellishments, you'll want to shop by Collection.  I have it arranged by Manufacturer and then each collection.  So for example, you want to see the Basic Grey Max & Whiskers collection you can either SEARCH for Max & Whiskers, OR you can Shop by Collections - Basic Grey - Max & Whiskers to see everything we carry from that particular collection.

I hope this makes it a bit easier for you when shopping at the store!

NEW Design Team!

Starting today, February 1, we have a new Design Team in our online store.  The four ladies that have been with us for the past 7 months have been SO great to work with, and I'm going to miss not working with them.

CrystalMindy, Nicole, and Sarah have been an absolute dream to work with.  They did some fabulous work for our gallery, and the newsletter the past 7 months was TOP NOTCH!  We'll be sad to see them go, but we're sure we'll hear from them from time to time!  Good luck girls in whatever path you take!So without further adieu, I'd like to introduce you to our NEW Design Team.  They'll be posting daily over at the DT Blog and you'll also be seeing their work in the gallery, as well as our newsletter that hits your email box twice a month.

Hi!Erica  I’m Erica and live in Oregon with my hubby, Andrew, and our two children Mickey, 3 years, and Audrey, 9 months.  I’m tall and talkative and totally in love with scrapbooking, photography and reading.  I love the color aqua, hanging out with my mom and garage sales.

Kim Hello!  My name is Kim and I scrap my life away from the beautiful Pacific Northwest!  I have been married to my best friend for 23 years and we have 7 kids, yes 7, and one granddaughter.  They keep life interesting and provide me with constant photo opportunities – when I can slow them down enough to catch them!  Scrapbooking is what grounds me in my ever changing world and I love to escape to my scrap room.  I especially love to have a reason to “HAVE TO SCRAP”!  I love to create and my scrapbook style is constantly evolving.  I can honestly say that I am inspired by the products and colors – they “talk” to me!  The most amazing thing about this hobby is all the wonderful people I meet!  I truly consider all my scrappin’ friends – family, and life just wouldn’t be the same without them.  The connection is so intense between those of us that “get it”!  I love that most!

Scarlett Hi! M y name is Scarlett. I live in wonderful WI (at least in every season except for winter!! LOL!) with my best friend and hubby, Dean, and our 2 children. Our son, Malik, is 13 and our daughter, Whitney, is 9. We run a small kennel business here at our house where we raise, train, and breed German Shepherds. DH also works for some other kennels, as well training. I am a Learning Facilitator by day (fancy name for teacher coach) in a Middle School and an avid paper crafter at night!

I have been scrapping off and on since high school, but it has only been the last few years that I have really been able to get to it the way I would like. It is soo helpful when your kids get older and can help keep themselves entertained!! I love creating LOs, cards, and altered items. My newest addiction is Mini Albums and ATCs. My goal for 2010 is to try out new techniques and add those into my projects as well.

Stacy My name is Stacy and I have been hooked on scrappin' for the past 7 years. I love pizza, but my all time favorite thing is STARBUCKS!!!  There is nothing like scrappin' with a fabulous cup of coffee!!!!

Finally!!! A few pictures of the new store

NewStore1FORWEB OK, so my mom took a few pictures of the new location...they're a bit blurry I think, but these will have to do for a bit.  :)  This is the store looking from our front window towards the back of the store.  We have around 2200 square foot of shopping wonderland.  LOL  We also have a classroom & workshop area past the back wall that will fit around 18 people for a class or a crop.

We don't have all of our displays up yet, nor our signage for the manufacturers, and I don't have all of our samples up either yet, but we're slowly getting it together!!

Here is what you'll see when you first walk in.  We have a wall with some sample layouts, a whiteboard with our featured manufacturer, and a little display of our featured manufacturer's stuff.

New Location!

Well...it's been a long while again since a post!

We have been moving ALL of our 10,000+ items into our new, bigger location!!  We started on Monday, July 13 starting packing with my mom, grandma and my brother.  We had all of the embellishments, etc packed up and ready to move by 4PM on Monday.

Around 4PM on Monday, we had 10 AWESOME ladies come over and volunteer to help move our boxes and boxes of inventory.  These girls worked hard, and we had about 80% of our inventory into our new location on Monday night at 8.  Of course we stopped for a while to have some pizza for dinner, but they really worked hard, and I SOOOO appreciate all of the work they put in!

Starting on Tuesday, we started putting away papers and embellishments on the walls, on our fixtures my hubby built, and on Friday we pretty much had everything put where we wanted it.

On Saturday, we went away to Kansas City for a few days of rest and relaxation with my entire family.  We went to a Royals baseball game, we spent some time at Oceans of Fun, and Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, and headed back on Wednesday.

Thursday and Friday were spent packing up and setting up the checkout counter, office computers, etc.  On Saturday the finishing touches were put on the front window display, and other displays throughout the store.

Today we opened at 10AM and we have been pleasantly surprised by the reaction of shoppers today!  We have a few things left to finish up in the classroom/workshop room and a few other fun things to finish up, but we're up and running today!

I will get some pictures and video up to the blog shortly, so you online shoppers can see what it looks like now!
