Hey everyone! I'm so excited about bringing some fun techniques to the A Walk Down Memory Lane Design Team Blog! Today I'm going to talk about one of my favorite techniques that is fast, easy and always looks nice-Paper Distressing.
There are several things you can do to distress edges of paper. My favorite technique is sponging. Sponging provides a nice, soft edge to areas that would normally be a bit stark, and also provides a great blending tool to use between two different colors of paper. It really softens up the look of the card or scrapbook page that you are working on and is quick and easy-just apply a bit of ink to the sponge by rubbing it to the ink pad and voila!
Another way to distress your layouts or cards is to apply the ink directly to paper. This works best with either sponge-type ink pads (pigment or chalk ink) or Distress Ink. You can apply it to just the edges or run it over the entire paper using very swift motions to create a more vintage feel.
Want to try this technique? We'd love to see what you make! Be sure to upload to the AWDML gallery and leave a comment here on this post so we can all ooh and ahh! Want to try this card? I used paper from the INFUSE line by Basic Grey, available right here at the store!
Also used in this card was THIS stamp by Autumn Leaves! I love it and it's so versatile and REALLY affordable! Well, happy stamping everyone! Have a wonderful weekend and don't forget, TOMORROW is World Card Making DAY!!! xoxo Jessica :)
I love your card Jessica!! and it's a great technique!

Great distressing techniques. I always forget to use sponges. Great idea! I love to apply ink directly with a marker too. Happy WCMD! :O)
