Sneaky Peekies!

I hope you all had a great Christmas and let me just tell you, when you get your January kit in the mail...you are going to think it is Christmas all over again!  This kit is awesome!  I absolutely LOVE the colors!  And it had some great embellishments too!  Here are a few peeks at a couple layouts I have made so far.  I have a ton of stuff left after making a 12x12 lo and a 2 page layout!  Can't wait to play more!   Have a terrific Tuesday! *Lynn*

So Pretty in Pink...

Hey everyone!

Hope you all had a great Christmas!  I had one of the best I can remember in years!  So, did Santa bring you all your little heart desired?  One thing I know is that if you have Scrapbooking/Card making goodies on your list, head on over to the AWDML shop and check out the ADORABLE new line from My Mind's Eye!

Have you guys SEEN the new Laundry Line Patterned Paper?  It's my FAVORITE and I've been stockpiling it because I'm afraid everyone's going to run out! LOL!

As cute as this line is, one thing I didn't know until a few weeks ago was that AWDML is carrying these SUPER cute stamps with the line!  They are super affordable and stinkin' cute!  I used the Flirty "lil girl" clear stanmp for this card along with the Flirty paper from Laundry Line.  This made a quick, easy, and pretty in pink card in minutes and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Merry Christmas!

I can't believe it's Christmas Day already!  I am sneaking in away from our celebration to share this short post with you.

This is a day to be cheery and enjoy with your family and friends.  A time to celebrate and share.  I'm sure the kids are all so happy with their presents.  Even if you are already an adult, you still feel the excitement of receiving gifts from your loved ones.

This Christmas, let us also remember that the best gift we can ever have is our family.  They are the most joyous present that we can always hope for.

Let me share this wonderful layout I created for my cousin's family.  This is another layout from the beautiful December Kit - Christmas Magic from AWDML.  See what I did with the sheer snowflakes?  I embossed it with red glittery embossing powder and used as a base for my flower.  You can actually do a lot of things to alter those sheers.  I still have a few left of these which I will use in my other upcoming projects.

Last Minute Holiday Inspiration!

Well normally I'm well stocked at my house with gift wrap, gift bags, bows and tags...however I have seemed to misplace the wealth of stock I had on gift tags.  So I had to whip up a quick tag to put on my mom's gift.  December's Kit was perfect, all the coordinating papers and of course I loved the colors.  I can't say I created this on my own though, I saw something similar posted on a SB company's blog, I wanted to recreate it using "Christmas Magic".

Super easy, and I even used my scraps!

Cut a rectangle 2 inches by 1.5 inches.  Round corners if desired.  Cut two smaller rectangles or squares to place within your larger base. 
I used liquid chalk to define the edges.
Cut a strip of ribbon 2" and fold over to make loop.  Apply to your tag.
Add embellishments.  I cut out a preprinted present from the BoBunny Pattern Paper, I also used a snowflake.
(I added stickles to my snowflake to add a bit of glimmer)

Of course gems and pears add the perfect touch!
Don't forget to put a name on your tag!

An Easy Last Minute Gift Card Holder!

  If you're like me, there are always some of those people on your list that you just don't know what to get them so you go with a gift card.  I don't know about you, but I always want someway to jazz it up a bit.  Here is a super easy gift card holder and I am sure you will have the supplies on hand!

Supplies:  Envelope, Cardstock, Stamps, Ink, Ribbon

1)Fold your envelope in half.  Cut the flap off the right side and seal the flap on the left down. 

2) Glue onto a piece of cardstock just slightly larger than your folded envelope.

3) Stamp on the inside however you want.  I like to put a little journal stamp so I have lines for my message. Here are some fun ones at AWDML!

4) On the front stamp your design and sentiment...this is one I gave to my dad for his b-day on the 6th.  But I have also done these for Christmas!

5) Tie a ribbon around the whole thing and voila...you are good to go!

Very Merry...

Hello friends! 

By the time I write my next post on the AWDML Design Team blog, Christmas will have come and gone.  It's hard to believe that while we all, well, MOST of us still have so much to do, that it will be over as fast as it got here, huh? 

On that note, I want to wish all of you the Merriest of Christmases and the Happiest of Holidays as we celebrate the end of 2008!  This year has brought some wonderful things for me, and being asked to be on this DT has definitely been one of the highlights!

I leave you with a card that I made for one of our 12 Days of Christmas challenges, which was to make a card using a Candy Cane!  I had fun with this one, and hope you like it , too.

Merry Christmas and hope you find lots of goodies that Santa left for you under the tree!

Holiday Magic

I love the colors of the Bo Bunny patterned papers included in the "Christmas Magic" Kit at AWDML.  It's a bit different from the usual red & green Christmas colors.  And yet it has that warm, cozy feeling that you only get during this season. 

Match the pink and blue colors with red and green and the result is stunning!  I love the contrast it creates and the seemingly magical look it gives you.

Here's the layout I created with this wonderful kit.  The sheer snowflake was a great touch and I added some blue rub-ons and glitter glue over it.  For added effect, I placed the Kaiser bling which was also in the kit.

A Quick (and yummy) Gift Idea

I thought today as we creep ever closer to the 25th I'd share a recipe for one of my favorite anytime treats!  I love making these...they are great for little people who want to help in the kitchen and people absolutely love them!

Pretzel Turtles:

Pretzel Twists      Rolos       Pecan Halves

Lay your pretzels out on a cookie sheet...they can be as close together as you can get them.  Place a rolo on top of each.  This is where my son who is 5 loves to help!  Place cookie sheet in oven at about 250 degrees.  Cook until rolos are melted and soft...about 4-5 minutes.  The chocolate will be shiny.  Immediately after taking out of the oven put a pecan on the rolos and squish it down into the pretzel.  Cool and enjoy!

These are great in a nice little bowl or plate to take to neighbors or coworkers!  Or put them in a little jelly jar with a ribbon tied around it!  Adorable!

On the 12th Day...

...speaking of DAYS, there aren't too many left of 2008!  Can you believe it?

With that in mind, I am looking forward to getting more organized in 2009!  One of my must-haves in order to keep up with kids, design teams, poms, and just...life is by making sure my datebook is with me at all times.  Are you all with me on this?   Even if you're not, wanna be more organized?
