Today we are making magnets as gifts! These are a wonderful teacher gift, or a gift for neighbors, co-workers...ANYONE! You will notice that in some of the photos of the steps, there are small hands- my kids' hands! This is a great family activity that your kids can do with you. And, it uses up some of your scrappy scraps!
Here are the materials you need:
Mod-Podge, scraps of patterned paper, circle punch, paint brushes, flat glass beads (from the Dollar Store), magnets, Quick Drying Adhesive (not pictured).
First, punch as many circles as you have glass beads from your patterned paper.
Then, add a thin layer of Mod-Podge to your glass bead with a paint brush.
Now, press your patterned paper face down onto the back of the bead- you want your pattern to show through the top of the bead.
Now, put another layer, or two of Mod-Podge over the paper to seal it to the bead.
Once the Mod-Podge is dry, put a dab of Quick Drying Adhesive onto the magnet and glue it to the back of the glass bead.
Once the glue is dry, the magnet is done. We made an assembly line and made about 25 of them all at once.
Here is how one of the magnets looks from the top. You can see the patterned paper through the glass!
And, here are our magnets on the fridge, ready to be given to family and friends!
Now, you can make a gift bag that Sarah showed you on DAY 2 and give them away! Have a great time!!
