Today we are making Scalloped Circle Ornaments! This is another simple, fun project that makes a great gift, but is also something you would love to keep and hang on your own Christmas Tree!
Here's how you do it:
First, cut your patterned paper into 12 scalloped circles. I used my Nestibilities Scallop Circle Die Set and papers from the Three Bugs in a Rug Let it Snow Caboodle Kit. You can use all the same paper, or different ones. I chose to do FOUR circles of THREE different papers.
Now, score each scallop circle down the center.
Now, you need to prepare your ribbon. The length of your ribbon will depend on the size of the scallop circles you are using. I used an 18" piece of ribbon. Then, fold the ribbon in half and tie a knot at the bottom and one a little ways from the top. Make sure that the knots are far enough apart so that one knot will be above your circles and one below. The top knot will create the loop that your ornament will hang from.
Fold each circle in half and add adhesive to the back of one side. I used my ATG Gun for this step.
Now, carefully adhere the half with the adhesive to the back half of another circle. Be sure to line up the scallops. Also during this step, put your ribbon along the straight, folded edge. The idea is to get the ribbon to run down through the middle of the ornament as you keep adding pieces.
Continue adding the folded circles back to back. If you have used different papers, be sure to follow the pattern.
When you add the 12th circle, adhere the second side to the first circle that you put on to complete the circle.
Your ornament is now complete. Hang it on your tree, or give it as a gift!
Be sure to share your Scalloped Circle ornament at the top of our DT blog using Mr. Linky to get your name put in for a prize drawing!
