I always love all things Christmas, so I had a lot of fun making this set of Christmas cards. Creating several matching cards really cuts down on a lot of the time involved, while still allowing you to give handmade cards.
For this card design, I was going for a kind of primitive, rustic design and I'm happy with the way they turned out.
To create this card:
1. Cut card base, 5.5 x 4.25 (folded size)
2. Cut mat out of coordinating paper. I am using Making Memories Mistletoe.
3. Create the Christmas Tree. To do this, I cut a rectangle from kraft cardstock, to get the height and width that I wanted. I then measured the halfway point at the top and used that measurement to connect the bottom corner of each side to that halfway point to cut out a triangle shape to use as a template for the tree.
4. To create the swirl design, I took a large piece of kraft cardstock and stamped red swirls all over it, as shown. I then used my template to cut out a tree for each card. I then inked the edges of the trees.
5. After adhering the triangle tree to each card, using brown cardstock or marker, add a trunk to the tree.
6. Cut out star to adhere to top of tree.
7. Add coordinating button to the star.
And, now you have a quick and easy card that is easy to reproduce :)
Super cute card, Crystal!! Great job!
