Happy Friday Everyone!!!
I am just loving all the new fantabulous product the A Walk Down Memory Lane store and could not pass up getting one of the new Maya Road canvas mini albums. I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to do with it at first, but then I decided to step out of my comfort zone and use some of the techniques and ideas I have seen around lately.
Here is what you are going to need to get started with this project:
1 Maya Road 3 Ring Rectangular Canvas AlbumRanger Perfect Pearls in colors of your choice
1 Popsicle Stick
1 bottle of water
To create your own glimmer mists, take the popsicle stick and scoop a bit of the Ranger Perfect Pearls onto it and gently dump this into a Ranger Mini Mister. Add some of your water until the mister is just about full. Voila, your own custom glimmer mist! I like to play with mixing the colors to really make them my own. Once you have the mists you desire, you can use one or more, you are ready to get started with decorating your album.
I really had been wanting to try using a mask with mists, but didn't have any of those handy. So, I used the next best thing..... some Maya Road butterfly chipboard pieces!
Place your chipboard pieces onto a page from the album. This will create the masking effect. Once those are set you are ready to spray away.
Here's what my cover looked like after I sprayed it:
I used 3 different colors of mists and what I really love is that now I have chipboard butterflies all set and glimmered up for a different project! Bonus!!!
So now what you ask?? Well, embellish away of course!! I decided I wanted this album to be for me and so I went with My Favorite Things theme.
To create the word favorite, I again misted using some Maya Road chipboard letters and just outlined them to make 'em pop! The rest of the chipboard pieces are all from Cosmo Cricket various lines and the super cool ribbon came from We R Memory Keepers.
So there you have it the beginnings of a canvas album!! I sure hope this inspires you to scoop one of these cutie albums up from the store and get creating something that might be a little out of your comfort zone, like it was for me!!
Happy Scrappin'!!!
Love the idea of masking with chipboard!
