You in the 80's

We never seem to scrap ourselves enough so this challenge is all about you! Well, more correctly, it's all about you in the '80's. Create a layout using a picture of you in the '80's. Were you a brain, an athlete, a princess, a basket case or a criminal? (Name that movie!!!) We can't wait to see you in all your 1980's glory!

Rocking the 80's Challenge- Bingoville

I love to play Bingo and here alittle challenge for you with this Bingo Card.  Create a card or layout using 4 or 5 items in your creation. You can use other stuff but should be min. of it. I want to see the stuff from the card. You can go across, diagnolly, up or down. ohhhhhhhhhh but there is a twist in this challenge...BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

The Twist and you know there will be one ..lolThe title of the page or sentiment has to be something from 80's TV Movies. You can check a huge list of Movie Titles from the 80's HERE or google search engine.

This will be fun and I cant wait to see your creation.

Rocking the 80's Challenge- Sketcharama

I love the 80's and wish I can go back to that era. It was alot of fun so I am bringing you back in time with Sketch Challenge with a twist.

Rocking music from the 80's Challenge

I'm sure you all have a favorite song or group from the 80's that you still rock out to.  As my DD would say when i'm jammin' out...mom is this your old school music???  So we are going back to the 80's jams!  I want you to create any layout you want except your title has to be one of the following:

-Love Shack (B 52's)

-That Was Yesterday (Foreigner)

-The Heat Is On (Frey)

-Angel Eyes (Jeff Healey Band)

-Girls Just Want To Have Fun (Cyndi Lauper)

-Jump (VanHalen)

-Eat It (Wierd Al Yankovic)

For my layout I used "Love Shack".  We have been in the process of putting an addition onto our house, new siding, windows, doors, and remodeling the inside so this song was perfect!

 
I simply love this Bella Blvd line of paper & stickers.  On my Cardstock I had to do a little misting.  Add a little ric rak, flower, thickers, and a button and I now have a layout of current times, with a blast from the past in the title.

More 80's Fashion!

Paint splatters were a hot fashion trend in the 80's.  You could find them in fashion, art, sunglasses, even wallpaper!  Well now I want to see them in our scrapbooking!  Paint is not new to scrapbooking, but splattering might be! 

Let me see you do it --- splatter at least 2 different colors of paint on your layout somewhere!  But--- be careful!  I ended up with lime green paint on my ceiling!

I used Adirondack Paint Dabbers, unscrewed the caps and dipped an old toothbrush in the bottles. I placed my cardstock in an old pizza box and tapped the toothbrush covered in paint against the edges of the box --- causing wonderful splatters!

Rocking the 80's Challenge Day 3 - COLORS of the 80's

Happy Hump Day everyone!  Welcome to the 3rd day of challenges here at A Walk Down Memory Lane's Design Team blog!

Today, we're going to talk color...I was an 80's girl as well...I remember listening to Madonna's Material Girl, Michael Jackson's Bad on my tape deck player during junior high.  I remember lots of black in clothes with some bright colors thrown in for good measure!  LOL

I grew up in northwest Iowa, and not in California, but I remember watching movies and TV shows showing off these CRAZY guys riding their skateboards in LA in Venice Beach.

So, today's challenge is to make a card using some fabulously 80's colors.  My card today uses a black backdrop and then a HUGE splash of orange and yellow with a bit of blue and green for good measure.

Challenge #2-The Ultimate 80's Girl

The ultimate 80's girl always had perfectly poofed mall bangs, a rockin' side pony tail and color coordinated stacked socks to go with her every outfit.

Here's your challenge: Create a project with ruffles (mall bangs), layers (stacked socks) and is asymetrical (side pony). You can make anything, card, tag, layout, minibook whatever your Brat Pack worshipping heart desires as long as it has the above three elements.

I'm, like, totally excited to see what you create!

Okay, so here you go ---- The 1980's was a huge decade for me. I grew into an adult in that 10 year period. I got my driver's license, graduated from high school, started and finished college, got married and had my first child! Wow --- what a transformation those 10 years were for me. That was also the year of movies for me --- I saw almost every blockbuster hit those ten years had to offer.

Do you remember any of those? I can visualize myself in the theatres for most of them, especially Top Gun.

My Challenge for you today is to scrap a layout inspired by one of these movies. You can use it as the title of your page, as the subject of your journaling, or even as the theme of your page. Just get creative and share with us something related to one of these movies or movie titles! My example for you is inspired by "RISKY BUSINESS" --- not so much the theme of the movie but the title! Feeding the Seagulls at the pier is definitely RISKY!
