Happy Tuesday Friends! Today I am so excited to share a great way to jazz up some of those numerous embellishments you have in your stash. I am thinking that by now, you, just like I, have heard the 'word' UTEE being thrown around in the scrappy world. At first, I didn't even know what in the world people were talking about!! LOL! I finally got brave enough to ask and found out UTEE is simply the shortened version of Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel. How easy is that? This product is carried in the store and is made by Ranger. Let me just tell you, once you use this stuff, you will be racking your brain on what else you can do with it.
Here is what the jar of UTEE looks like:
It comes in a 4oz. jar and will likely last you a good long while.
Let's look at how UTEE can transform some plain chipboard 1st:
Before:
I inked up my plain chipboard and then used VersaMark as my glue for the UTEE to stick to. Apply a bit of heat and voila, you have a shiny button! For this one I stopped the heat before it all melted completely because I wanted a bumpier texture.
Now, we're going to look at the what UTEE can do for your premade chipboard pieces.
Before:
I love this little dress form from Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl Ready Set chipboard, however it looked a bit plain to me.
After:
Isn't that a delightful difference? Noting like a good dose of sheen to add some jazz! I again used VersaMark, sprinkled with UTEE, tapped off the excess, and for this one I heated completely; waiting for the bumpy texture to go away.
Now what about all those flowers you have. Let's look at what UTEE can do for those.
Before:
I love the way the UTEE gives the flower the feel of being covered in dew. It also provides a bit of stiffness to the areas it covers. I again used the same process as above to cover my flower.
This is such an easy process; I hope you all try UTEE out! It gives embellishments that little touch to make them stand out without a lot of effort, just think what it could do for letters in a title!!
Until next time - Happy Scrappin'~Scarlett
