Hey everybody! This is Erica and I'd like to welcome you to day 6 of the 12 Days of Christmas here at A Walk Down Memory Lane!
Today's sale item is Unity Store Exclusive Stamp sets, buy 1 get 1 50% off! Be sure to check back everyday from December 1st through the 12th for new sales each day! You can wait until the 12th to "checkout" if you'd like. But, when the items are saved into your shopping cart, it doesn't take them out of inventory, so you may miss out if items go out of stock. The best thing to do is check out every day and we'll combine the orders on the 12th. The first day you will pay shipping...every order after that, just click "store pickup". Leave us a little note on your order and let us know you are combining shipping at the end of the sale days!
Now for today's project!
We're going to use products from one of this month's Featured Manufacturer, Just Rite Stamps and create some really cute to/from tags! We're using the 2" Stamper, the Girl Time Set, and the Small Letter Set.
First, you want to put the ornate border on the stamper and then spell out "TO" and "FROM" in the center section. Make sure you check out the picture below for placement help or you may end up with a tag that says "OT" and "MORF"! (Don't ask how I know that. Hee!)
Next, ink up your stamp and stamp it on cream colored cardstock.
Now, grab your large scalloped circle punch, flip it over so you can center your image and punch it out.
Next, use a 1/16" inch punch to punch a hole in the top of the tag. Then, thread some red and white baker's twine through the hole, knot it to create a loop to hang the tag on your gift and it's done!
You can make lots of different versions of this tag by using the same stamp set up and just changing out the inks, papers, and twine.
Below, you can see the original cream and red tag, a brown on kraft tag with brown and white twine and two layered tags using Crate Paper's Snow Day line and some yummy teal baker's twine!
For the layered tags, follow the directions above but instead of using the scalloped punch on the stamped image, use it on a piece of two sided patterned paper. Using a circle cutter set to 2 1/4", cut out the stamped image and adhere it to the scalloped piece. Embellish with stickers and follow the rest of the instructions to complete your tag.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and have fun making your own gift tags! (I'll be making a bunch and giving them as gifts to my son's preschool teachers!)
