Hello all, I hope everyone has their Christmas shopping done and is ready for Christmas! I braved the stores today and finished up most of my list. Only a few more stops to make.
Speaking of Christmas, I could not resist all the cute holiday paper this year. Seriously it was the cutest! I think I have enough now to last me the next 15 Christmases-LOL! So to use up some of that Christmas paper (because I know I am gonna want something new next year) I chose to use Pink Paislee's Christmas themed Mistletoe and Co. paper on this non-holiday layout. The colors were perfect for these photos of my daugher in her favorite coat and were so cute I couldn't wait for Christmas photos anyway!
(Supplies: Pink Paislee papers, Thickers, Doodlebug Stickers, October Afternoon Stickers, Making Memories Stickers, Sassafras Felties, American Crafts Details)
I think my favorite part of this LO is the little dog saying "woof, woof" at the bottom. He is a sassafras feltie. I just can't get enough of those felties, but really who can? As I planned this LO in my head I knew I would use the little doggie and the American Crafts Everyday Amplified word balloon below. The only problem was the word bubble had a bright pink flower on it. It really clashed with the paper. I didn't panic though. I just pulled off that flower carefully and added a brown sassafras feltie flower that matched much better.
Next time you look at your embellishments and think they don't fit your layout try to alter them to fit. You will be surprised that most of the time your alterations make them look better than the original.
Thanks for looking! - Sarah
